I rarely write reviews and didn’t want to write this one, but after being completely ignored for at least 7 or 8 out of 9 months now, I felt like I needed to. It was the hardest thing ever to make the decision to surrender our sweet horse of 15 years, but my husband’s back prevented him from caring for her, so the farrier and vet recommended Bits and Peace’s. When we spoke to Hannah the owner, she assured us we could see her “absolutely anytime” and if Lily struggled at all that we could get her back. In early February 2023, Hannah sent a text saying she had a lot of interest in Lily but was holding on to her until we could come and see her. This never happened, and we’ve been trying (almost weekly)to see her for 9 months now. We have made 3 one hour trips, (one way) in hopes of someone being available to help us to no avail. We’ve been completely ignored for 7 months until Hannah’s fiancé/husband called to say Lily’s been adopted. We’ve asked several times if he would check and see if the new owners would let us visit her for 5 minutes, and he just ignores us now. This has just broken my heart and I’ve cried many tears over this, because I just needed Lily to know I was around and I knew where she was. I can’t understand being treated this way when all we’ve wanted is 5 minutes to see her. I’m reaching out in hopes that her new owner would please let us see her.
I never dreamed anything like this could possibly happen when we surrendered her!

Bits and Pieces have a great reputation in the community for rescuing horses that are in need a good home. Hannah seems to be passionate about her rescue.
When I know of a horse or horses in need of TLC I will be using Bits and
Peaces

i really wanted to give this rescue the benefit of the doubt because Ive met and spoke to Hannah numerous times in the past She even helped me with some skinny ponies at a neighbors last year. Im not sure if she got in over her head or what but pictures don't lie and Ive seen enough dated before and after photos of different horses in the last few days to know that many of these animals are in much better shape upon arrival to Bits & Peaces than they are after being in their care for an amount of time.

You truly will not find anyplace as caring and dedicated to animal rehabilitation as Bits and Peaces Equine Rehabilitation. If you are looking for somewhere with empathy and a gentle heart for your horse, this is where you will find it.
