I was one of the first girls to get a big sister in Birmingham. They even did a news article of myself and my big sister. I want to let everyone know that after 50 years it still has a positive impact on my life. I still remember her name, the things we did and she has often crossed my mind through all these years. If anyone is considering participating on both ends I say DO IT! You will never forget it no matter how old you get. I can't say enough positive about this organization. Big Brothers Big Sisters Thank you from one of your old littles. ❤️

Being matched with my Little Sister has been an incredible and fulfilling experience. Big Brothers Big Sisters does an incredible job of matching based on location, personality, and interests. My Match Support Specialist is constantly checking in which reminds me that they're looking out for the safety of my Little Sister as well as helping me with any issues that come up. A great opportunity for volunteers and children!

I was fortunate to transport a group of middle school kids along with their counselors from BBBS to the zoo. The staff showed genuine concern for the kids and I could see how much the kids looked up to their counselors. It was clear to me, that these young men and women have a passion for helping children. God bless Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Birmingham.

Where do I start.......After signing my son up for this program, I was told that there will be an in home interview. We were assigned to Nicole's case. After setting up the first interview she did not show up to my house. Remind you that I do work and I'm a full time student, so I'm clearing my schedule to be there. I left a message the next morning to reschedule, and she did get back with me. However, after rescheduling, I had to cancel because my son had to be rushed to the hospital. Then there was a third time where she didn't call nor show up. I called the office and spoke with the president, she stated that Nicole said she left a voicemail, which was a lie. I was furious and very upset with the lack of professionalism at that organization. I was caused a lot of inconvenience. Not every one is not working. I would not recommend this company at all. There are a few more mentor programs that's out there.
