I am so grateful to Assisted Living on Broadway for the excellent care they gave my mother. She was on hospice when she arrived and lived another 15 months. Mom loved to walk and we were thrilled that she got a room at the end of the hall so she could have a longer distance to walk inside. When it became clear she was slowing down, the staff suggested moving her to a closer room which was just what she needed. The food was always amazing and I was shocked and delighted when Rose made a special Thanksgiving dinner for my family on Monday so we could celebrate with Mom before going out of town. The staff was thoughtful and took great care of Mom. When her hospice agency was not providing the care they should, Iren strongly suggested changing so Mom would have the best care when she would need it most. That was a recommendation I will always be grateful for and cannot thank the staff for always cherishing Mom while she lived there. I highly recommend this home for your loved one with dementia.

My mother resided at Assisted Living on Broadway for the past 18 months. She received excellent care from their professional, caring, and tireless staff. The facility was immaculately clean, and my mom looked nice every day. The smell from the kitchen always made the facility feel like home. The price was very reasonable, especially for the high level of care received. Recommended highly.

This care team was like family to my Mom. She was happy, engaged, loved, and appreciated. They totally got her quirky sense of humor and adored her for it. Meals and snacks were posted and healthy.

Since I lived near by, I would just drop in to visit because it was her home, just like I did in her Independent Living apartment. I was always welcome and usually greeted with a hug. If activities for the residents were planned the staff had me help out if I wanted (like art) or participate (like sing-alongs).

I worried that it was a big step to go from her apartment in a large assisted living community with a pool and activities to this smaller group home. But we were bringing in daily specialists to help with bathing and med-management. Eventually, we had to hire help to sit with her at meals because she’d only eat sweets and Diet Coke otherwise. Even with all that help it was more cost effective than moving her to Assisted Living in that community.

Besides, she didn’t want to move to AL because when she’d go to that floor to play bridge she said it was boring. “Those ladies are just not that sharp with their cards, Leslie.” However, the ladies in Independent Living kicked her out of bridge. Because, while Mom could still play well and usually win, her dementia was affecting her “civility,” they said. Apparently, a lady is not to gloat about winning at bridge!

There was nothing to worry about with the move. She settled in, the care team would play cards with her, cheer with her when watching The Price is Right, and ensure she ate well, took her meds, and went to bed on time. She liked the routines and rhythms of the days.

Mom’s conditions declined and she passed in January 2020, just as the world was going into pandemic lockdown. The team was so caring and communicative with me so that I could come by often while she was in hospice there. We all cried together when I kissed her goodbye in her bed surrounded by a lifetime of keepsakes, pictures, and love.

I wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone looking for a similar experience for their parent or loved one.

Mom lived at Assisted Living on Broadway (ALOB) for close to two years before she passed. Prior to moving in she had lived with us, so we were very anxious about the level of care that she would receive at a memory care facility. My mother experienced severe sundowning on a regular basis so we were very concerned that the staff would be able to navigate those episodes in a positive manner. On top of that her transition from our home had been facilitated due to a fall so she had reduced mobility when she first arrived.

We had looked at several facilities with the help of a consulting service, and landed on Assisted Living on Broadway due to the proximity to our home, the cleanliness of the facility, and the disposition of the care team. While it is not a big facility, Iren and her staff were always very friendly and accommodating to our requests. They worked well with the other service vendors (physical therapists, visiting medical service, etc) so it was always easy to get updates on how mom was doing and any medical issues that she was experiencing. Mom made several friends during her time there, and enjoyed all of the social activities that they arranged, as well as being able to spend time outside in the garden area. She also enjoyed the food that they prepared as she always had a clean plate after every meal.

As the disease progressed mom lost the ability to communicate verbally, but she continued to have a smile on her face every time we saw her. That was always very reassuring to everyone in the family. We all felt very fortunate that we found Assisted Living on Broadway and that it ended up being such a great fit for mom and our family during the last phase of her life.

We moved my dad into Assisted Living on Broadway when he needed a memory care residence in December of 2019 and he lived there for 18 months. When COVID hit, our family was so grateful we found Iren, Rose and the team before the pandemic shut things down. For the time we couldn't meet in person I never once worried that he wasn't getting the care he needed. Whenever we visited he was very happy with his environment, his fellow residents and as others have mentioned the food is homemade, nutritious and wonderful! All of the caregivers pay individual attention to the residents, they work hard to ensure they get above and beyond what they need, are comfortable and happy. Iren and Rose communicated with our family very well, they helped us understand the disease as he was experiencing it and they were instrumental in helping us to coordinate hospice care and worked well with the visiting health care workers. In fact, I was told by several of dad's visiting hospice caregivers that this was one of the best run communities they visit with regard to how well the residents were cared for (toileting/showering/clothing) and facility cleanliness. When dad passed away our ALB family showed immense compassion and kindness. The smaller environment was a much better fit for my dad and his worsening dementia than the larger assisted living community he was living in before. The facility is very clean, residents rooms are a good size (my dad had a private and then a shared room) I read a lot of reviews of communities we considered for dad and I hope that this review gives some helpful details for families to read as they consider safe, caring homes for their loved ones.

What a wonderful place for our father to get assisted living. All the residents were always happy, engaged involved. It was lovely. It’s an adjustment for everyone, but they make it so simple and for the cost unbelievable. The staff goes out of their way to help and keep everyone happy.

If i can give a half star I would. My mother lived here less than a week. Our $2000 and monthly fee was kept by Iren (Erin) Kaspin, which she said she would refund and needed to be resolved with litigation on 7/5/2023 to be refunded. My mother was accepted by the owner Iren Kaspin then sent to the ER on the 4th day bc staff could not handle her-only to be fine in the ER. My mother was not a good fit after 5 days of being at the facility. Iren told us she accepted Medicaid and then never billed Medicaid and told us she would refund the $2000. entrance fee-never did until legal action was initiated. The business communication and professionalism is amateur. The money was taken from an elderly person whose S.S. is $900 a month. There was no reason in good faith a $2000 deposit could not be returned to a situation that didnt work out without involving litigation. I was awarded the money-it was an unnecessary headache for when someone is dealing with a loved one with this awful disease.
Anyone knows that dementia is a difficult disease. This facility is rundown, but is clean and makes good food. If your loved one is non behavioral, sedated and has limited mobility, then this is a place to rest their heads.
I refrained from posting my experience til now due to the threats I received from Iren Kaspin.

My mom was living with Assisted Living on Broadway for over two years. I can't say enough about the care she was given there. They treated her with love and compassion. They treated her like family and have become essentially family to me. We were truly lucky to have found this home and I am eternally grateful to the entire team for everything they have done. The food always smells great and the caregivers are warm and welcoming. I rarely use the word "blessing", but this facility was exactly that.
