As of 12/19/2019, ACHMS closed. It is now run by Asian Health Services, thank God!

Before the closure there were many grievances against the Executive Director leading to a hostile work environment. Unfortunately, this also filtered down to the treatment of its staff and patients.

I was on the receiving end of malpractice from a counselor and the head therapist in charge during their move from an on office site to another within the Asian Resource Center building.

After being violently attacked with a knife and suffering from CPTSD, I sought treatment and was promised that I could obtain a signature for disability. This never happened. Empty promises. This really hurt as I was on Medi-Cal.

The lead therapist (the "boss" in charge) accused me of being "high" (stoned) and being on a "paper chase" (looking for "free" money) while meeting with him regarding my pending disability.

Very insulting considering I had previously worked for Asian Health Services for three years, am educated and an organizer. Doubly insulting granted the "Stop Asian Hate" movement.

The only plus side to ACMHS were the support staff who were very helpful unlike the degreed and certificated professionals.

I'm glad the old ACMHS is no longer around.
