My boyfriend and I had the best experience with this shelter. The grounds are very well kept and they were very kind and informative with us. We wanted to make sure to ask all the questions we had before choosing a dog and we liked that they also asked questions to us and not just let the dogs go to anyone who claims wants to adopt a dog. Rufus has been an amazing addition to our family, we loved that the owner of the shelter, as well as the staff were very well informed about all the dogs and provided us with a good background story to our fur baby. We are very happy with Rufus, and also with the shelter, so thank you to everyone that worked with us to help with our adoption.

The Canutillo rescue shelter is unbelievable! The animals there are so well taken care of. Loretta is an amazing woman with a heart of gold! The babies are all happy. I’ve rescued three doggies from them. My first was Belle. Unfortunately I lost her last year to old age. My second was Tiana who’s sister got adopted the day before and she was sad, but happy now in her forever home. After her sister Belle was gone, she was so depressed. I went back and adopted Línea (AKA now Luna). Luna is a crazy dog and loves to do zoomies with her squeaky toys. She and Tiana are now the best of friends.
I can’t say enough good things about this rescue shelter! If you are looking for a wonderful life-long friend, this is where you should go. You can be sure that your new family is healthy and will bring so much happiness to your life!

I cannot say enough great things about the Animal Rescue League! They are truly exceptional when it comes to rescuing and caring for dogs. The staff is incredibly dedicated and genuinely passionate about their mission. Every dog they rescue is treated with love and care, ensuring that they receive the attention and medical support they need. The shelter is always clean, and it’s clear that the team goes above and beyond to provide a safe, nurturing environment for the dogs. I’m constantly impressed by their commitment to finding each animal a loving forever home. If you’re looking to adopt or support a great cause, the Animal Rescue League is doing amazing work, and I highly recommend them!

Just recently adopted our second fur baby from here and couldn’t recommend them enough! The staff is so friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. They answered all of our questions and really helped us to find the perfect fit for our family. Everyone we interacted with from start to finish was great across the board. This facility also offers training services and they were very open and non-judgmental about questions and issues we had with training ourselves which we appreciated. If you’re looking for a new fur baby or want to make a donation to a local non-kill rescue, definitely consider ARLEP! They are so deserving of it.

I adopter a dog in this place, the dog had a STD, I figured out cause one day I called and a lady told me the past of the dog, I didn't liked they didn't tell me that. By the way , my veterinarian cleaned his teeth. Afterward I send the dog back to shelter cause bite my other dogs. Months later I went to the shelter again cause I wanted to adopt a dog and the owner didn't want to. I don't understand these people, they made mistakes and hide the background of a dog and then they get mad. They were kind with me only when I gave donations. I will never go back there is not the only dog shelter in Texas. Finally I found the dog I wanted in another shelter and I m so happy for that.

For any one trying to adopt good luck! I have been on a wait cause a dog had parvo and finally she survived and application was approved and last minute they let a worker take velvet and the response was well you don’t work here she does. What a joke of a facility and then to tell me well if she doesn’t work out at her place you can have her no one should support this kind of shelter

This place is horrible. Friend was first to put in an application, was waiting on a question to be answered from a manger, called back later in the day and gave the dog to someone else. Horrible organization

Edit: Your response is a flat out lie. She was told over the phone her application was next in line. Then waiting for a response to a question the dog was given to someone else. The dog was posted late Sunday night, so no no one applied during the weekend. This establishment lying about the circumstances makes this even worse.

All ima say is if you’re military just don’t even bother. They will give you a difficult time trying to adopt a dog. They wanted me to pay a months worth for doggy daycare for a dog I didn’t even have in my possession and LOL you have got to be serious. I suggest making a list of requirements and giving them to the person instead of calling them every dime of the hour and making up bull crap on what they need. This place needs to shut down. They wanted to see pictures of my living condition etc which is fine but you have small dogs living outside like wild animals in 20 degree weather with feces on themselves.

Edit:
Mind yall I gave them the place where I would send the dog to doggy daycare so that’s a lie 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Be so fr. So saying I would lock the dog up all day is not true.

Go up
