Go at your own risk, but be prepared for a lot of high school level drama, shadiness and favoritism from the owners, and double standards.
I was kicked out for being in a relationship, however at the time I left, there were at least 3 other couples that were allowed to stay. So I wouldn't say this place is entirely LGBTQ+ friendly. You will be forced to attend religious groups, or face discharge. So it's highly ironic for a place to say they are LGBTQ+ friendly, when they force you to sit through groups meant to indoctrination and brainwash you into their religious beliefs. LGBTQ friendly? Maybe after they've converted you.
You'll be overworked at sporting games and concerts, and Ray takes all the credit card tips from those transactions, and threatens to kick you out if you tell the customers that he does. My manager openly told me on several occasions to lie and tell customers that we received all credit card tips, even though they all go directly into Ray's pocket.
In order to eat from the kitchen, they make you apply for food stamps, and give them half, which isn't the most legal practice, as food stamps aren't supposed to be used by anyone other than the recipient.
Ray loves to play favorites, so my advice would be to get on his good side. You never know what you're gonna get with him. Some people can come back drunk or high to no consequences, while others get kicked out for not making their bed. Zero consistency. He claims to try to help people, but as soon as his profits or bottom line starts getting hampered, that all goes out the window.
The place is absolutely INFESTED with bedbugs, and you don't get much help from the owners in dealing with it. They just had me move from one infested room to another. I had to order my own bedbug killer to deal with their problem.
Overall, the facility is dirty and disgusting. They make a big deal out of doing your chores(sweeping, mopping, taking out trash) but because they're so cheap, you've got 3 dingy mops and a broken mop bucket to clean with. So it's no wonder the place is so gross, and everyone is always sick because they don't supply you with the necessary equipment to get the job done correctly.
So if you're willing to put up with all of this, you could try this place out. It's just unfortunate that they take advantage of the fact that their clientele is in need, so they think they overwork you, mistreat you, and discriminate against you. Unfortunately, they usually get away with it because the people residing here have nowhere else to go. Go somewhere where the people actually care about helping YOU, not filling their pockets off of your labor. Money is the ultimate corruptor and root of all evil, and that is on full display at Anew Vision.
*UPDATE*
Just in the short time since I have left, several incidents have been brought to my attention. First off, a resident was stabbed on property. Physical altercations, more people getting kicked out for stupid reasons, and of course residents fratenizing- one instance even leading to a pregnancy.
In one example of the unfair treatment from Ray, there were 2 different situations where one person stayed after breaking the rules, and another was given the boot. The person who got kicked out voiced their frustration that Ray only pays $30 for a full 9am-4pm days work(Yes that's actually true). Pointing out Rays cheapness or greed with stealing credit card tips seems to be the fastest track to getting kicked out. However, along the same time, a resident that was involved in a physical altercation on property was allowed to stay.
He has also installed audio surveillance. My skin crawled a bit when I heard about that. Need I say more...?
Hearing about all of these things just reminded me how lucky I am to not be a part of the circus that is Anew Vision. Getting kicked out was one of the best things that has happened to me. I'm flourishing with the person I got kicked out with, and we're both thankful every day not to be a part of the circus that is Anew Vision.

Where do I start. First off, the place is infested with bedbugs. Maybe it's just me, but if you're paying rent, or working it off, you should at least have a pest/bug free environment. Secondly, Ray is an absolute nightmare. He expects people to get on their feet, but when you have to work venues 5 to 6 times out of the week, it leaves absolutely no time to try to get or keep a job. He has no patience or understanding, and is suffering from severe burnout. It shows. If he is tired of what he does, then he should get out of this profession, which is supposed to be charitable. They also won't feed you unless you hand over all your foodstamps, which I'm pretty sure is illegal, as SNAP benefits are only to be used by the person they are issued to. So them asking for them seems highly unethical. It's a shame that there are places like this masquerading as a charity.

This place is a joke they have there favorites, they say no fraternizing, but yet they have ppl doing stuff in each other's rooms and in the laundry room and if you aren't on there snitch list then you best believe when your name comes up cause it will there's alot of gossip and drama you will be out. Don't get me wrong there are a very few ppl that are good ppl there but I definitely wouldn't go back if it was the last place on earth. Some ppl get away with everything while others get thrown under the bus for everything.

I'm grateful, I learned, I lived, and eventually got discharged, but I was and always will be God's gift to the world. The name of the program is a joke, has been from day one, and where more than one are gathered there always seems to be gossip. Quick to throw people out on the street and the best advice take what's given, and get the hell away when you can.
