Came by here today to see the old paintings on the building and take a couple shots of the helicopter and I saw where the buildings murals had been painted over. Can't someone enlightenment me about what's going on here. Is this still an American Legion or has it closed.

The final Farmers Market of Jacksonville, Alabama was hosted by the American Legion Post 57 on 12/10/2022. What a nice place for the finale of the market season! Thank y'all for the hospitality!

This American Legion location holds public billiards tournaments on Thursday night's.Their was a (1) African American gentleman that played pool consistently with these gentlemen before I returned. Once I returned I realize that they were no longer allowing him to shoot pool in tournaments. I have played in this tournament consistantly since I relocated back to Oxford in May, 2017. I have won my fair share of tournaments their since returning. I was recently informed that I can no longer participate in the tournaments due to my skill level being higher than the other participants. After listening to their argument I was unsatisfied with this outcome. I proceeded to call the American Legion and speak to the owner / Commander, Carl. Carl's responses were underwhelming and unwarranted. He continued to tell me that the guys "back their" didn't want somebody that came in and won every week. I have not won the tournament every week by far. The only (2) African American pool players that have played with a group of older Caucasion gentleman have both been told "they can't play anymore". If the genuine complaint is about the difference in skill level, then why continuously allow players under their skill level to enter also?
