We went on a Sunday evening and had a wonderful meal. The duck fat fries were hot and crispy on the outside and melted in our mouths. I had a filet mignon with garlic potatoes, which was delicious. My partner had the mini filet and lobster tail, which I tried and was also very well prepared.

The wait staff were attentive but did not linger too long. Overall, we had a lovely evening at Alley House Grille and would recommend it for those who are seeking steakhouse fare in an intimate setting.

My husband and I just spent the last 48 hrs recovering from food poisoning after eating here. We were visiting from Houston with our family for spring break. Coming from Houston, where we have access to some of the most diverse and high-quality dining options in the country. While we weren’t overly impressed with the restaurant options in town, we decided to treat ourselves to what was supposed to be the “fanciest” spot. We completely regret to as soon as we got back to the hotel.

Halfway through the meal, my stomach started feeling off—so much so that my son even asked if I was okay. I figured I was just tired. Naively not knowing I would spend the next two days trying to recover running to the restroom every 45 minutes like clockwork.

The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the restaurant’s reputation. But after this experience, I can say it definitely wasn’t worth it. Owning and operating multiple restaurants for over 10 years, I recognize the signs of poor food quality control, mismanagement, or cross-contamination—especially when it comes to seafood, which requires the utmost care.

Hopefully, this review brings some awareness, and the restaurant takes better precautions in the future. No one wants their vacation ruined by food poisoning.

It was our first time at this wonderful restaurant! I especially want to express gratitude to the person who cooked my steak!!! It was amazing!!! Excellent service! Unfortunately, I did not remember everyone’s names. But the girls were very attentive and kind. Thank you! My wife and I loved the time we spent in this place...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Almost forgot about our experience at this place but drove through Pagosa Springs a month after visiting and remembered how absolutely rude the staff was that I had to write my first review ever. Food was fine - expensive! Nothing that special but good food for sure. We were there at 5:30 - two young kids, dinner out with my sister-in-law. When we arrived the young women at the hostess stand said we'd be waiting a while for a table, an older (maybe management) waitress came by and said we'd able to sit right away - so we sat, had dinner. Ran into the hostess gals a few times in the hallway taking kids to the bathroom, or getting ready to leave. As we were leaving the young hostess was loudly stating that she wanted us "out of her restaurant" and "just get rid of them." Nothing major - just a big yuck! Spent a lot! Took the kids early, not like we were ruining romantic time for couples. Kids weren't loud of terrible. Hopefully they'll find a hostess who actually likes people and isn't looking for ways to feel superior.

Expensive for what you get on the fine dining side. Servers may have been understaffed.
Fried cauliflower appetizer was the best value. Caesar salad was average, although anchovies were nice extra. Had to request fresh cracked pepper from server. Shrimp scampi was heavy with lemon although tasty.
Sea bass, salmon and shrimp dinners were good. Not great. Presentation was nice for everything except the Brussels sprouts side dish.

Good food, especially for what you pay since it’s a bit more. I would go back if visiting the area! We made this our nicer dinner on the trip. The menu is good size and everything we had was delicious. We were so full we opted to not get dessert. I highly recommend this place for its beautiful atmosphere and cuisine.
