Wonderful place. You can walk around and visit the birds. The staff is also very friendly and also informative. You can bring injured birds to this place as well and they will take it in.

Alabama Wildlife Center is actively pushing against the Alabama Good Samaritan Wildlife Rehabilitation bill HB448 at a time when THE ENTIRE STATE OF ALABAMA is covered by ONLY 5 licensed wildlife rehabbers. *WHY* is what everyone wants to know, AWC. You only rehab birds. The state of Alabama has NUMEROUS educated, qualified people who are eligible for licensing yet continue to be ignored, rejected, and pushed out. Again, WHY? While I realize that is not your concern, I can’t help but question why you all are so adamantly against this bill which would greatly help our Alabama wildlife and also help relieve our already overwhelmed licensed rehabbers. We want answers, not threats of lawsuits!

We were the first arrivals and got a GREAT tour and a chance to interact with one of the owls. Super excited about it, definitely a hidden treasure for any animal lover. It was my family's first time and we loved it!

We love this place and their mission. They care for, rehabilitate, and educate about raptors. We visit all the time but this October, we went to the annual Owl-o-ween. They had crafts, candy, and activities for the kids. But the highlights were the live talk with some of the owls that are in their care and the release of a rehabilitated owl, which was absolutely amazing!

Really great to see some of the birds here! It's small, and don't miss the outdoor trail further along (which you can walk to from here, but you can also drive closer.) Nice bathrooms here too.

This place is for the birds! Seriously, it is a nice rehab center for injured songbirds in the Birmingham area. Come see baby birds being cared for too.

Dedicated staff caring for injured and orphaned wildlife. Adult birds are housed in aviaries which you can visit. Excitable kids should be coached ahead of time to keep quiet so that animals are not disturbed. When I was there I saw only birds but they rehab other wildlife. The treetop trail descends from the facility; if you hike the trail you will encounter a raised boardwalk with aviaries housing hawks, owls and vultures including an unusual white turkey vulture. There is also a platform housing part of a real eagle’s nest. Very educational!
