I called to ask about their services that they offer here, and how does it all work. Claire said what do you want to know? I said “I’d like to know about the counseling” she said “what about it?”. I asked is it free, or what’s the fee?” “Do I need I need insurance?” She said “yea it’s free”… and then we just sat on the phone in silence for a moment.
I think I will implement the “you get what you pay for policy here.” I was just curious since we live nearby. I did also notice there are a lot of homeless people who hangout on the porch here which also gives it that not so safe feeling. Hope this helps anyone who’s looking. May check out BETTER HELP next.

This place transformed my life, helping me become more independent and capable of making wise decisions. I commend the program for allowing me to grow emotionally, spiritually, and through healing processes each day. It's not a place to be spoon-fed; you have to work on yourself. Ninety-nine percent is showing up for therapy, activities, social gatherings, and making action plans. The people are kind and helpful, and the success of the program mirrors the staff's relentless efforts to meet our needs. Thank you, ACH!
*I would like to commend the diligence of our case manager Sharla and her staff relentless effort to help. God Bless You All

I recently lived at ACH. At first I had seen it as a place for second chances and brighter futures. After living here for two years or so, I can tell you that was not the case entirely. The facility has a lot of drug influence, and a lot of issues. The building itself, and the ones surrounding it are very old at this point where something like ether net is considered advanced technology. The rooms had a lot of glaring issues, but things I was able to look past being there. For one, was the shower knobs. They would constantly break or get rusted and then I'd have to get a pair of pliers to even turn it. The only chance of me getting them fixed, was if maintenance was there and I'd ask them, which was more rare than a blue moon. When they were there, they were very helpful even with their lack of knowledge on fixing Ethernet outlets. Another major issue was the washing machines. They would constantly be broken and have to get replaced many times. This however was more of the residents fault and not the facility's. Now the continuous issues like this, I was again able to look past. What I was not able to look past, was the cult. One night I was woken up through a call from one of the guys who were living there. He and some of the other men were outside, and had said they needed me down there. Once I made it to the courtyard, it was me and a couple others who's names I will not say for privacy reasons. They had told me they had been seeing masked faces and silhouettes of figures in the building next to the church. At first I thought they had been under the influence, but when I had taken a look myself, I saw them. It was people moving around in the windows of the building. It was hard to make details completely, but there was definitely movement. The building was usually closed at this time with no lights on. It was around 3 or 4 in the morning so it should have been empty. Out of the figures we had seen there was only one standing still. At the top left middle window, a man stood. He had a cream soda color mask with no features on it at all, and black attire. He was facing toward us. At that moment a man who was standing from a distance outside who we had just noticed started running. We could not get a good description except his clothes seemed baggy. Me and another youth had tried to chase him, but he had ran too fast. Afterwards we had reported what we saw to a security guard for ACH. When she had gone over the building with her flashlight for five seconds there was no one inside. After that night, she had reported us instead thinking we were on something. Even afterwards some of the guys had witnessed more sightings on their own account, I however never went back to that building. The weirdest thing is how you needed a key card to even get in that building which only staff had. By the time my stay at ACH was coming to an end with the drug influence, constant fire alarms, stealing, and the occult itself, I was ready to leave. Not to mention the area was hard to find a job in, so if you plan on staying here make sure to be taking classes. I also recommend to be on constant visits. Being in there every day was like being in purgatory. Hopefully the jarring issues can be fixed, and tbh I have not even listed all of them. I do not recommend living here in any case. I am just glad I'm not there anymore.

Never been ghosted by a DV program before but I guess there's a first time everything. Im a 2x DV survivor facing homelessness because of what my attacker did. I was referred to the transitional housing program and applied right away.

I interviewed with Sharla and two other ladies and relived the most traumatic moments of my life. I patiently waited to hear back and followed up for an update. They said they were still interviewing people, which I thought dumb..why put multiple women through this ordeal instead of just one family at a time until you find someone eligible? Anyways, that's the last I heard from them.

Followed up twice more and nobody's gotten back to me. When I call they say I have to speak to Sharla only but she doesn't pick up the phone. Left a message for a supervisor and they never got back to me. I feel defeated. I can't get help from anybody in the city of Dallas and the one organization I thought might could help ghosted me. I would've been a success story in their program but I guess they found a better match. Would've been nice to have been told that instead of ignored in my time of need.

Be leary when working with these people. Don't get ya hopes up.

The SIL program is full of garbage people , management is awful. they don’t support the youth,. I lived there for a few years and it was the worth experience of my life , they don’t treat the youth with respect , don’t respect their privacy neither or advocate for their development,
the management Nick and Edna are very ignorant…. They constantly shared my private information with multiple employees which was very uncomfortable…. And one of their male employees would contact me late at night which is very inappropriate. Wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone

ACH is an organization that genuinely cares about children who have experienced complex trauma. I am thankful there are people who invest their emotions and energy into children who really need it. My experience with them has been great overall, and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Wouldn’t recommend anyone to come into their SIL program , I did not receive the support I needed to develop my skills and become I better adult . They constantly treated me with no respect . Nick , Edna and the others are not helpful at all . And their employees would smoke around the house. If I could write my history again , I wouldn’t have gone to their SIL program.

They rescheduled because of an ice storm, then I had covid.

BAM, get an email that we are discharged "due to loss of contact" even after I informed them I had covid.

I email them back, and they tell me they haven't officially discharged and we can set up an appointment. Then they change their mind and say we are discharged anyways, after we agreed to an appointment time.

It's very obvious they do not care, what a waste of time, stress, and gas money I didn't have.

Avoid!
