My daughter had a great experience at Academics West Summer Boot Camp. She was engaged and excited about the session. She gained so many valuable tools and her tutor uses the manual she got from the camp to reinforce what she learned in her weekly tutoring sessions. As a mother, I appreciated that evidence based interventions were utilized and that my daughter obtained concrete tools, but her more importantly the camp helped her to gain confidence in her ability and moved her closer to being an independent learner.

Dr. Kassinove and Dr. Flamenbaum are two of the most caring and kind professionals I have ever dealt with. The school facilities are exceptionally well maintained and a warm and inviting environment for the students. The teachers are all truly engaged with their students and remain in close contact with the families providing support and feedback. Academics West is a wonderful environment for any family considering their child's educational options.

The professionals and staff at Academics West are absolutely exceptional. Everyone from the people at the front desk, to the teachers and administration are incredibly caring to the children and students they support. The school is one of those special places where kids can blossom and make permanent changes. I highly recommend it for any parent who has a child that might need extra attention. No one does what they do. Blessed that Academics West exists and I wish there were more of them.

My cousin has attended Academics West for about a year now and has made immense progress. Coming from an extensive history of disappointing service providers, the staff at Academics West have changed our perspective on the mental health field. In just one year, we have seen a difference in her frustration tolerance, organizational skills and patience. Kudos to the team at academics west!

I really can't warn families enough, DO YOUR RESEARCH, ASK QUESTIONS! This "school" is very problematic. If you have the money and are looking for an easy (just not cheap) high school diploma for your child, then I guess this is the place for you. If you were hoping for legitimate therapy, education, and genuine caring, this isn't the place for you. Not a good sign that the "Faculty and Staff" section of their website has been empty for several years.

The Agency generously shares valuable information about therapeutic supports, strategies, and resources, and provides great webinars and CE credits for licensed mental health professionals.

This is a first rate school with exceptional leadership and credentialed staff dedicated to the children served! It is one of a kind and NYC is fortunate a school combining the best of education and, as needed, therapeutic and educational interventions to promote learning and social growth.

I've known both of the co-founders since 2007 and admire their judgment and expertise. They work professionally & patiently with many types of families and students, from those with mild, temporary challenges to families in great turmoil with very tense, sometimes almost 'no-win' situations, highly expressed emotions, and even states of mind that are probably outside the everyday experiences of many people. Those are the types of situations that call for highly trained psychotherapists and related professionals, and I trust them.
