My mom went to Encompass after an illness requiring hospitalization. She was put on oxygen, unable to walk very far, or shower. Yet the local hospital insisted on sending her home with home health. After advocating for her and contacting Encompass Health, we met with Sally, who arranged everything for her to go there. My mom received excellent nursing care as well as respiratory, physical, speech, and occupational therapies from their knowledgeable staff. She was able to wean from her oxygen, was able to walk community distances without a device, performing all her self care, & improved her cognition. All of which improved better than it was even a year ago. Thank you Encompass and all your amazing staff for giving my mom her quality of life back!

I would definitely recommend Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Smith to anyone needing rehabilitation. The staff and administration are top notch, thank you Encompass for everything that you do to make sure that your patients are receiving the care and rehabilitation that they need. Case manager, Rusty Cooper has made sure that my husband has all the necessary equipment and help that he needs once he returns home and Charles Bunch, Facilities Management Director has visited often making sure that we are happy with my husband’s progress and care. Encompass….each and every one of your staff members are amazing!!!

This place is super a full gym, home equipment, o/t stores, with the best physical , speech and occupational therapist you will ever find . Nurses , doctors and staff was very caring with patients, food was very good ladies serving it was wonderful. They made us feel like family and worked so hard with us and my husband to recover and be able to come home. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to recovery from their health problems. A 10 out of 10.

Sarah is a wonderful wound nurse. She has now removed, cleaned, repacked the bandages twice. Sarah uses great care and skill at every step of this procedure. Above her technical skills, she showed me great compassion Sarah is a major asset to your organization as she goes beyond the skills wound nurse. She worked around my pain and she showed me her skills working quickly with great skill.

If you are looking for a great Rehabilitation Facility then look no further because you will not find a better place than Encompass Fort Smith as well as the Fayetteville location as I have been to both. I was just recently in Encompass Fort Smith after having a fall that shattered my hip and my femur was fractured as well so I had to have a full hip replacement and rod placed down my femur and was sent from the hospital to Encompass after surgery. The Dr's are all great especially Dr. Short he's absolutely hands down the best rehab Dr!!!! Most all of the nurses are very attentive and always on time with your meds and work closely with the Dr so if you are having any issues with medication, side effects or pain control they are quick to talk to the doctor and get changes made and the issue resolved. The nursing assistants and Cna's are great as well and take great care of you and make sure that you are getting turned and change positions every couple hours. The physical and occupational therapy team is top notch and they will push your buttons, drive you nuts and kick your hiney but it works and I promise that if you do what they say and what they teach you then you will go home 100% stronger and much better than when you got there. Sarah the wound care nurse is great and very knowledgeable and very, very good at what she does and takes great care of you and whatever you need as far as wound care goes! The food and open menu to order just about anything you might want is great. As far as the star rating ? ? ? ? ? I give them the highest it will let me which is 5 and I would give Dr.Short 10 ?'s or more!!! Bottom line is that this is the best Rehabilitation Facility and they will get you better quickly and back home with confidence in yourself and your independence. Thank you Encompass Fort Smith and Dr. Short for all of your help!

Encompass Rehabilitation was the best thing that happened to me. My physical therapist Kayla and Jenna were AMAZING!! The nurses never missed my medicine dose times. I was changed every time I needed it. I have a broken back in 4 places and a huge incision on my stomach too to bottom from emergency surgery in Fayetteville. The food at Encompass is amazing. You get to pick your own meals according to your Drs diet instructions. My mom was not given instructions on my home health. But they were written in my records :/ so I think she's just being a mom. :/ my incisions were changed daily! I was almost killed by my abusive husband who went 85 mph down North O St in Fort Smith and ran a red light and t-boned a car. On Sept 4 2024.

Encompass Health completely rehabilitated my dad after being in a acute care hospital and on a vent for 10 days. He could barely hold a spoon in his hand at that point, and he had no balance or strength. Encompass had him for 11 days and the therapist and nurses rehabbed him to fully independent in almost all categories. I am forever grateful! ❤️

The care my husband received was outstanding. His therapy was excellent. The day he came home from the hospital he carried his golf clubs into the house by himself. He has done very well and continues doing the things he learned from his therapist.
