My mother was in the care of Arkansas Hospice, and I am so extremely disappointed, and quite frankly disgusted with them. She got very sick with pneumonia and a uti, treatable infections. After assessing the immediate situation and condition she was in, I spoke to the hospice nurse with great concern for her condition. After questioning whether or not she could be readmitted to hospice if we sent her to the hospital, we were told she could and made the decision to send her. She was admitted. We were told to keep them informed on her progress. I called Arkansas Hospice and told them that I thought she would be discharged soon and asked what I needed to do. I was told to call back when she was actually discharged and she would be readmitted. The next day, I got a call from the hospital stating that Arkansas Hospice was not going to take her back, but the hospital was unsure about why. Upon calling Arkansas Hospice, I was told that my mom was not being readmitted because of her previous hospital stays that she had BEFORE she went into hospice care and that the doctor was "fully aware of who she is" like she's a criminal for going to the hospital in the past. This is all beside the fact that they did not even have the decency to call and tell us that she was not going to be readmitted. I'm sorry we ever chose this company, and am now glad that we are parting ways. If this is how they operate, I do not want them caring for my mother. This is a hard enough thing to go through without having to deal with something like this. Utterly ridiculous and completely uncalled for.

The support my Mother and I received from Arkansas Hospice was awesome. Nursing and Social Services were always there when we needed them. The Team anticipated our needs and all needs were met in a very timely manner. Would highly recommend Arkansas Hospice.
