I went there to turn in paperwork to hopefully become a foster grandparent volunteer in the Decatur/Morgan County school system. If you are interested in doing something like this, you have a great opportunity available. Everyone that I came in contact with was very helpful!

I just have to say, thank you very much for all of the help from employees & especially, the community volunteers that give up their free time to help their neighbors, especially, in a time of need. I never realized how much Community Action does for the community. Neighbors helping neighbors is truly a big statement. Community Action is really a God-Send when one is truly in need. Thanks guys & gals!!!!!!!

Im a single Mother of 9 went in for an appointment and was told I couldn’t get assistance because some public housing doesn’t include gas and they don’t pay for gas… now I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place right before Christmas not only can I not afford to get a gift for each child but we will be in the cold and dark also which will lead to eviction. I don’t understand and I know I’m not entitled to assistance but I thought the goal was to prevent or at least help prevent this very thing. I’m trusting God purely moving by faith even writing this I hope something changes about that policy

My son was abused by the teacher’s aid. The headstart/community action handled the situation poorly. They were rude and short once I informed them I contacted the police. They didn’t do an incident report the day off. They also said they “removed the aid from the room” so I do not believe she was fired or any type of punishment done. Please beware! They have went as far as removing reviews on their Facebook page once I made a review on the situation.
