I cannot express enough gratitude for The People Concern. Before finding them, my puppy and I were sleeping in my car without access to a restroom or shower, all while I was trying to complete my Bachelor’s degree. They stepped in and changed everything for us.
They provided us with a safe bed, a hot shower, and three nutritious, tasty meals a day. Beyond basic necessities, they genuinely care about our long-term success. I have started on-site therapy to help with my emotional support, and they even provided essential supplies for my puppy. They also have a clothing closet available for those who need it.
The staff here is incredible; they go out of their way to be helpful and kind, even when navigating difficult situations. They are currently helping me construct a life plan to ensure I stay successful throughout my housing journey and get my affairs in order. This is a legitimate facility that follows through on its promises. They have given me the stability I need to focus on my education and my future.

They might help you get housing but they will punish you for the rest of your life for being homeless in the first place. I had a huge problem being sexually harassed by the men when I was part of this program for 16 years, and I solved that problem by moving to another city

I pass this place everyday on my morning commute and witnessed a resident hitting a German Shepard puppy. I looked into it and they use dogs as therapy for the homeless. I called to report and the person working the desk told me to call the cops. I will continue to try and reach management at this location but I plan on involving any authority I can to protect these innocent animals against the abuse they are probably faced with everyday.

Things depend on if your wanting help, if your ready for help, and if your not going to get in your own way when folks are trying to give you help. Some Man giggled and told me this was The People Unconcerned. It is really called the People Concerned. Again it may be difficult or not as quick as you'd like it to be but these are good people trying to help others. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy, and a lot of times our own decisions put us out in a bad way. It is a hand up if that's what you need. Give
them a try. And keep trying. Show up. Keep going. Do not give up especially on yourself ok?

Had 4 huge bags full of clothing and shoe donations. The boy who answered the phone refused to help me unload, and wouldn’t open the gate for me to pull in and unload myself. The door entrance is on Cloverfield blvd, NO PARKING, can’t even stop and leave my hazards on. What type of homeless shelter wouldn’t help with donations? I’ll go somewhere else who actually will appreciate it.

I'm pregnant they tell they can't find me housing or a referral to a family for me baby or my service dog after I have my baby the want us on the streets of LA with no way im blown away with all the lies they told me about helping me and my baby thy shall not lie that's all they do i hate this place what kinda safe haven is this they put mothers in streets instead of saving lives they put you in dangerous situations im very missed off and disappointed in this shelter don't come here if your pregnant they will give you false hopes and dreams

I was born in Santa Monica, worked multiple jobs in the city, and lived a quite nice existence prior to homelessness. After COVID and losing many things including my job ,family and finally apartment I discovered OPCC. I have had a couple case managers here and been on the housing list for almost 3 years, have had SMPD refer me here after the police harrased me several times and am yet to see any result. I am still hopeful and pray every day I will get out of this struggle and hole with my gorgeous , girlfriend. One thing I earned out in the struggle of being homeless was falling in love something I never had experienced before. Have a blessed day and stay positive and safe. Best- Sasha
