I wad a child placed with this agency and they gave me to abusive parents. They also tried to charge me 200$ for information the state was able to provide for free. Awful people

Does anyone in NewJersey Child Services know what happens to files and agreements with Adoption Agencies that have closed?
This place is not "open". When I call the number, every selection leads to a constant busy signal. I have not heard from any worker of Golden Cradle. I have not heard from anyone from Center for Family Services. My last weak excuse of communication and updates was in 2020. Since then I have NOT been able to reach anyone. Papers we legally signed says, It was an OPEN Adoption and I would receive and be able to communicate and at least one visit per year. I HAVE never had a visit despite numerous attempts at requesting visits. My last communication the rep from GC told me my birth-daughter has questions they don't know how to answer and "she" didn't want to visit. I also received a friend request from one adoption mother, and it must have been a mistake after checking up on me - they immediately deleted and blocked and restricted me. They attempted to 'bribe' me to get an approved visit and tried making me sign update agreements that if I visited, there would be certain restrictions such as no other family member being able to attend, especially birth-father. I DID NOT sign that paperwork and am still attempting to contact these people.

I was so excited to start the process of adoption. I believed everything Golden Cradle told me. Now two years later I am still dealing with the fallout of that decision. After spending thousands of dollars I have realized what a mistake it was to trust Golden Cradle. They never responded to my requests for a grievance. I was never provided a detailed invoice. Communication regarding my case was never provided to me despite multiple requests. At the end I can only assume that all that Golden Cradle cares about it money. Please go with another agency.

We are so thankful for Golden Cradle. We began to work with them in February 2011.
We have been blessed with 2 beautiful children. The paperwork to adopt can be overwhelming, the wait list stressful but they are with you the entire way.

We use the agency to send yearly letters to our children's birthmoms. We enjoy sending pictures and letters and our children are at the age they want to be apart of the process. I pray that when our children are older and if they want to meet their birth families Golden Cradle will be there to help us as well.

We hope to work with Golden Cradle again in the future as our family continues to grow.
We continue to pray for birthmoms and the difficult decisions they make for their children. We had several failed adoption attempts, we continue to remember those birthmoms, their children and families.

Adopting a child is not a simple process, it's expensive, and mentally exhausting. Golden Cradle guided us from day one when we had our first inquiry meeting until the final adoption at the court house. They were very understanding and patient with us and the multiple emails checking on any news/possibilities/etc. It took LONG time, but at the end we ended up with the perfect baby, she and no other baby was meant to be ours. It was all worth it!

We adopted our 2 sons at birth, one in 2002 and one in 2004, through Golden Cradle. We visited a few other agencies before visiting Golden Cradle, but when we attended the information session at Golden Cradle, it just "felt right." Our lives have been so blessed by our sons, and we are forever grateful for the caring and loving staff at Golden Cradle.

I was adopted through golden Cradle and for over 10 yers now I have been trying to just get any background medical history that I can, but noone ever calls back. When I speak to someone there they never give me their name and if they ask my name they never seem to take it down or ask how to even spell it. They also seem to come up with strange excuses as to why I haven't gotten the information. In my opinion they don't seem to care and being an adoption agency compassion should be one of the employees main qualities when dealing with what they do.

Recommended. Responsible management, clear understanding of the role of all parties, and direct access to the case worker. We're thrilled with the outcome (our son!), although very much recognize the journey was extensive and expensive. We're beginning another adoption soon, again with GC-CFS.
