My father has been a resident of this facility for 6 weeks and we have been very pleased with the care that he is receiving so far. The staff has been remarkably pleasant and attentive. The building is well cared for and the room and the floors are always clean.

My mother had been a resident since March 2023. I have been pleased with her care. The building is clean and the staff has alway been friendly to me. I am able to visit anytime I want and I appreciate that because of my schedule at home. My mother’s bed is changed daily. Mom really enjoys the weekly bingo game. There are activities everyday. The social workers are always available to speak with and the physical therapists are wonderful. The building and grounds are old and could use some updating. They also need more staff so for being so short and overworked I think they do a fine job. At 97, this will probably be my mother’s final residence so I’m hoping for good days ahead for her. Thank you West Oaks for your concern and care for my mother.

My aunt was there recently within the last 30 days and the overall service and care especially midnight was horrible. I called the DON and the business manager and never received a courtesy call until something happened. She had surgery and their for rehab she was only at this place for 2.5 days and I had her d/c. She went to the bathroom along without assistance, calling me at 3am in the morning because she had to go to the restroom and he called button was on for over 1-hour while she waited on her pain medication for the nurse to tell her she's not her only pt; you do not say that to a person in pain. For rehab they put you in a room with a pt that has been their for over 3-years. I would not recommend this place EVER! unless they change administration, sale it but when you call DON or business department, leave a message and not get a call back that's a problem.

My sister is here and they are short of workers. But with what they got they do well. I bet if they got the hell they really need their star rating would be 5+ please can anyone go there and see what else they need my sister is 83 and blind. She always looks good and the healthiest I ever seen. They also have some great parties etc. For holidays and other functions to invite family members to see them and how nice they treat the residents. Call channel 4 help me Hank maybe to do a report on their functions or come see fir yourself

Only a few staff members are great at what they do management does not seem to care about concerns or complaints I would not recommend flies are all in the room

This is a VERY CLEAN facility (NO!! feces or urine odor) on each floor!! YES, RESIDENT SAFETY & WELL-BEING are NO.1 priority!!
Residents ROOM & BED ARE CLEAN, CABLE TV (flatscreen) for each resident. Very impressed with the dedication of resident total care. Residents are offered daily activities, encouraged to participate in group activities to enjoy and greet their new resident neighbors. The food is not your grandma's meals but tasty! Yes, residents have a VARIETY MENU to choose each day. Meals are prepared with nutritional value base on each resident diet. Stephanie Yates, Executive Director, address all concerns with compassion and integrity. (BTW) I'm a former employee.
Yes, I would recommend this facility for a friend or family member.

House keeping supervisor Tylinna coleman,She has been most supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable Supervior that have encounter since my family been here. She was very helpful and kind and professional. She deserve a raise and an award for her ability to show that when you care about your job everyone receives the reward if love.

The Culinary team here is nothing short of Awesome. they go above and beyond to excel services for their residents. the kitchen is always clean and orderly and put together, and lets not mention the TEAM. If you need a definition of the word, check into them. Thanks for all you do!

It would've been a higher rating from me
.I reported the two times I had visited my sister mostly everyone treats me with respect. But th e second tome i came we visited in her room with my.pup who she loves dearly. I font know the m lady thar scolded us in the lobby
No one came nurse to give her a pass so we could not leave we were saying our goodbyes my pup was sleeping on her nice and quiet just us talking and this one heavy set woman standing behind the receptionist was nasty and verbal about us leaving when instead of getting the nurse and getting my sister a pass she did nothing but over and over to get out with the dog when I got paperwork all us fine eith shots etc no problem from anyone else but her. She needs yo ho or have a goof talking to hie not to be rude with visitors
I've been contacted by the.lady on charge. But wanted to let people no one needs to be treated nasty

My experience upon entry was refreshing. It was refreshing because West Oaks exceeds many “nursing homes” I have been too. I noticed the cleanliness onsite. The floors are shining, the baseboards are shining and the walls are clean. The staff is bright and bubbly and actually seemed happy at work. I believe you are your environment and working in such a well kept environment, can uplift not only the staff morale but also it benefits the patients to be in a clean environment, helps them in my opinion to keep their dignity and integrity and makes for a pleasant stay. I’m proud of West Oaks for standing out amongst the multitude of nursing homes in the Metro Detroit area. Good job and keep up the good work, most places have to get ready for a walkthrough, but not West Oaks they ready on any random day.. It’s clean yall, some people only know how to swish dirt around, the baseboards are outstanding and the fact that the staff there knows better it’s very obvious that doing better is a standard of excellence at West Oaks not a opinion.
