This is a group that really takes care of our open lands and environment, as naturally as possible. They have FREE guided tours, open parks, and many different groups are adopting parts of the parks to plant trees and vegetation! I started out with a guided tour, and became a member (donation). I've since helped plant over 130 trees and taken 3 more hikes where the mass public normally doesn't get to go or even know about. There's birding groups that actually monitor species of birds, and natural plant experts abound. I'm heading out to plant trees again myself.

I went on a guided hike to Lynch Canyon. It’s amazing this area was slotted to become a landfill for San Francisco’s trash before the Solano Land Trust saved. Beautiful area with a great public program with hikes and restoration work.
