I called and explained I was 68 with health issues(heat&lung) was firmly told they don't take people like me. I also inquired abut where the homeless go since they toss them out at 0730. I asked if they had park benches for sitting on outside. The lady was rude and Cleary discriminatory against seniors.

Great attitude among people that work here. Sissy is one of the most amazing and kindest people you can ever have the pleasure of meeting. She is extremely helpful and caring in getting what you need to continue to go forward with your life, as are the others who work there

Just going to say I'm not here all the time, but I enjoy cooking for the people there when I can. It does seem like most of the staff does care, and the people there are very appreciative. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because I feel there should be something in place to ask the residents about food allergies and accomodations (vegetarian, etc). At least 3 times in the past year I've called ahead to ask about them, been told there's no problems, and when I show up one of the residents tells me they're allergic to xyz, or they don't eat meat.
All I'm asking is for a little help so I can give my help a little better.

To be fair we never saw the inside. The place was locked up tight and it was before 5pm. My friend called and did the screening, proceeding that he was told they didn't have any room and to call back every day - but he doesnt have a phone (and I think this is true for most homeless people).
There are so many people that are homeless in this area and this shelter just isn't big enough to house them. Its sad that I also believe it is the only one in the area. We ended up in another town and my friend was given a place to stay.

Ought to be called "PROFESSIONAL HOMELESS ALLIANCE".
Entire staff were homeless until they got a place on the $100k/month payroll(as bragged about by a staff member when I was there)
No services for WORKING PEOPLE in need of a hand-up. This place BREEDS HANDOUT CULTURE. The "shelter" appears to be an all-day hangout for the decrepit and non-working.
Even if you are homeless in sub freezing conditions there's NO HELP FOR YOU! NO COMPASSION, NOT EVEN A WARM, SAFE PLACE TO STAY OVERNIGHT WHILE YOU WORK DURING THE DAY!
Unhealthy food full of toxic ingredients like wheat, sugar, vegetable oils, and preservatives. These people are completely clueless and are actually breeding a homeless community of tatooed freaks who refuse to get jobs in the community and hang out in their offices all day telling the working homeless "sorry there's nothing for you" all day. Kyle, Sissy, Susie nice people totally ineffective and looking out for #1 first and foremost.
Most you'll get here is a load of laundry once a week, excuses, and a shower 3x week at best.

The guy in the office who wears the boonie hat is extremely rude and wouldn't let me use the water hose to fill up my water jug.
Seems the only time they care to help people is when their funders are watching, what a shame.

This place and the staff is 100% solid!! They carry a lot of weight in shelter in and out. This isn't a easy population (chronically homeless) to deal with. Yet they do it even going into the brush to find them and then bring them in shelter. I can tell you first hand, this team is strong, caring and hard working. Truly changing LIVES!

While my own problems hurt me with the shelter, the shower program on Monday, Wednesday and Friday is great and the lady that runs it will take care of you like you're family. Remember, when you're looking for help, you have to be willing to help them help you too.
