First off, I donate blood. This location is where I went before. No issues at all. Every week we get phone call about how there is a critical shortage. So I answered and the call center wanted me to make an appointment. I couldn’t confirm the time given so she said I could walk in. Fast forward, I walk in about 9:45. They go to lunch at 10-11:30. Lady said come back at 11:30 and we will get you in. So I putter around for and hour and a half. Get back in when they re open. Go to check in and the lady up front said appointments only. I told her the lady said to come back after lunch and we will get you in. So keep in mind now that I have gone there twice and wasted all morning trying to donate blood because for what they say they are in critical need and now I find out I cannot because I don’t have an appointment? The lady at the desk said the other woman was a volunteer and doesn’t know what she was talking about and how busy they are. Sooooo…. If this is so critical and in dyer need of blood( from the recorded messages given) why couldn’t they fit me in. To me this is unacceptable and I will never go back to this location again. I will find another company to donate blood.

Everything is nice, I just wish to have a cup holder for the water bottle, it's a little awkward to put it between my legs

Another nice little improvement I think could have is to appreciate the donor right after the bag is sealed and taken away, instead of after the donor saying goodbye. I know we all have our different reasons to donate blood and the decision of it shouldn't be determined by a little thank you, but saying the magic word really could encourage us to come back

Anyways will come back again.

Post your hours on the website because the posted hours on the website are not fact. This place takes off approximately 1 hour in the middle of the day for lunch. That's everyone working all at once. While I may not agree with this, that is their choice. I just don't see why they can't take lunches sporadically however this is not my place of business. All I ask is that they change the hours on the website so that others will see not to show up during that hour of lunch like I did. I got here at 1:30 and they said they wouldn't be able to see me till 2:30, because everyone is at lunch. The front desk person was very nice and I'm sure everyone there is very nice.

I had scheduled an appointment through their app at San Tan location for Feb 17th. I had gotten email confirmation for the same. When I reached there for my appointment, I did NOT see any trace of blood donation happening. Walked around 45 mins to make sure I didn't mess up the address.

I called customer care, and the lady was nice and tried to help me, but she couldn't because she couldn't get hold of anyone to confirm if this location was correct or not.

After I hung up, I got an email saying the customer canceled the appointment. ?

I spent a total of 2 hours of my weekend and no proper response for my request.

My first blood donation experience was a little over a week ago. I was pleased with the experience. I wasn't sure what to expect. Everyone was very nice and answered all my questions. The lady who started my IV was great. They use a pretty large needle, but it only hurt for a split second. I had no bruising after, which was a surprise. I liked that they thanked me after. I felt like I did a good thing, and I will definitely be donating regularly.

I've been donating at this location for 15+ years and have always had professional and friendly interactions with staff! They really are terrific and don't get enough credit for making us doners feel comfortable and very much appreciated!

People don't realize how critical blood donation is to the health industry as it is the one of the few things that cannot be replicated synthetically, has a shelf life, and must match perfectly to the recipient.

When people have the misfortune to need blood for themself or a family member, that's when the awareness changes. Some might even participate in a blood drive for someone they know, but there are soooooo many people in need that we don't know... just think about it.

There's a 3-ring binder in the waiting area at this location I like to browse through while I'm eating cookies and rehydrating during my 15-minute wait between my donation and leaving (required to ensure each doner is feeling well after every donation). In this binder are real stories of blood donation recipients for every kind of need, emergencies from accidents, recovering from various cancer, from the very old to the very young, which further affirm my commitment to donate even if it's just the minimum of three times per year.

No, I don't work for Vitalant (still strange using this new name after so many years), I had a mother who donated and had retired from Cigna as a Lab/X-Ray Tech, drawing blood from people every day of her working life. She saw first-hand the very real need for blood donation and passed on that gift of awareness to me and many others, always remaining respectful that it is always a choice to donate, never pressuring a single person... even me. I think that's why I enjoy donating regularly in homage to a wonderful, giving person it's my hope to be even half as wonderful as she was.

The photo is of an award she recieved in 1999 commemorating her donating 10 gallons which she displayed on her dresser. She continued donating until she passed years later and I know the night she received this award at the UBS doner celebration dinner was an incredible highlight for her, but she would have donated just because it was a simple way she could help others.

I love you, Mom, and still miss you every day. ❤
(Sorry, didn't mean to get so mushy...)
