Talking to the social worker on the phone was a wonderful experience. The social worker was kind, empathetic, and very helpful. A couple of years ago and this is right after the the pandemic, I took a class at the headquarters in Irvine and had a odd experience. Sadly, I left feeling disappointed. The class facilitator was empathetic and responsive to all participants in the group sharing their struggles in caring for a loved one during class. I stayed after the class to ask her some questions as I told her I was going to grad school and had to stop to care for my parent suffering from Alzheimer. She was not empathetic as she was rushing me and blowing me off. It was strange because the facilitator was patient and empathetic to the person who went before me and asked her questions. I hope she gets more training especially in diversity.

The Caregivers Conference in Garden Grove on August 3rd was a wonderfully organized and beneficial event. As a caregiver, I came away feeling “connected and renewed” as the program title promised. It was a perfect balance of information (great panel of physicians), fun (a lovely lunch and a gifted music/movement leader) and practical take always (very relatable and inspirational keynote speaker).
Thank you ALZOC for this gift to caregivers and for all you offer us on a regular basis.

I went to my first class as a person diagnosed with this condition. I was nervous but quickly was made most welcome, and my nervousness resolved quickly.
. The class was well presented, informative and there was great discussion and resources literature. I am so glad I called them and look forward to attending what is offered!

Alzheimer's Orange County is a blessing for those living in Orange County. The organization provides quality care and support services to the thousands of residents of Orange County who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other related dementia.

They also partner with local researchers to populate clinical trials to help find a cure. They also have a pretty awesome team and culture. I recommended Alzheimer's Orange County to any family member, friend, caregiver or Alzheimer's/dementia patient without reservation! 👍🏼
