Worked over 4 years to get 2 people to accept a 40,000.00 dollar Theft and took a plea of guilty. Have not had any payment for nearly 1 year! Judge gave them a Def. Adjud. to let them off after 5 yr prob. They prob. office tells us they will possibly release charges if we say anything? Not even paying probation fees? I dont know?

This is one of the most disorganized, backwards counties I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with.
No one (office staff, probation officers, judges, etc.) seems to know what's going on with anything whether that be their coworkers, how business runs, their operational hours, forms of payment, etc. Staff members will each tell you something different every time you contact them.
To top it all off, they are still living in the 1990s in which nothing is automated. They don't update your hours or your payments so that other counties can verify, don't take debit, have zero information online, and you have to do everything in person (which is extremely difficult when you live multiple hours away).
Save yourself the hassle and avoid the entirety of Milam County when traveling.
