We were at our wit's end until we found Sharp Academy. Our daughter is severely dyslexic and could not keep up in public school. Sharp Academy has completely changed our child's life. Before Sharp, she would ask "Why am I different". She did not learn like the other children in class. Her confidence is through the roof now. Because the kids at Sharp Academy learn differently than most kids, the staff is dedicated in making sure that each child's material is delivered in a manner that they can succeed. The student/teacher ration is small so that each child gets more one on one attention. I recommend Sharp Academy for any child that learns differently.

Sharp Academy has been a great choice for our son. They have smaller class sizes and a dedicated and experienced teaching staff. The athletic director makes sure the athletes are prepared to participate in as many sporting events as possible. The school has been very responsive with keeping our kids safe at school during this pandemic. They have always been very willing to work with us and accommodate any needs we might have.

My son has thrived at Sharp! He is excelling academically. There is a family feel at the school. When a teacher not only works there but also has their children there, they are investing in the students. Lisa Stane has invested personal time working with my child to meet his goals. We consider our family blessed to be a part of Sharp Academy.

Our son started Sharp as an incoming 6th grader after having been diagnosed with Conversion Disorder (mid 5th grade) and loosing his ability to walk completely. It was attributed to severe anxiety and bullying that he had received in public school. He wasn't physically bullied however as a student who learned " differently" than others he was constantly "left behind" because he couldn't learn the same way as everyone else. So after 4 months of being wheelchair bound and 15 days of in-patient treatment at a local rehab hospital we made the decision to look for a different type of school for him. When we found Sharp it not only changed his life, but ours too. Our family dynamic changed, his attitude and confidence grew and his love of academics began to grow. He is now in 8th grade, has the highest GPA in his class for the 3rd year in a row and loves participating in an sport they offer. His confidence has grown not only academically but also personally. Sharp is a small, but mighty, school that teaches children how they need to learn. They offer different teaching styles in the classroom, tapered to each child's needs. Even if that means teaching one lesson multiple ways in a single lesson. If you are looking for individualized and personalized high level, one-on-one education for your kid, Sharp is the place to be!

I have taught here for 3 years now and cannot imagine a school better for students with learning disabilities. The best thing about Sharp Academy is the family atmosphere. All of the teachers and administrators treat each of the students as if they were one of their own children.

What the teachers and staff have done for our daughter at Sharp Academy truly cannot be measured! They not only tapped into the unique way in which she learns but they restored her self confidence. Truly cannot find words to express how thankful we are!

As a former student I can say that some of my best years were at sharp academy. I met some amazing people. For the first time in my life I had teachers that really cared if I passed or failed. Teachers that took take to make sure you were okay and getting the material. Teachers that could tell your good days and bad days, and they would talk to you about why you're having a bad day; as if you're family. I made some amazing friends there as well. And I finally realized I could learn and I was smart. And for parents concerned that we don't actually do work because we have no homework, that is because there are amazing teachers there that make sure you stay on task and get your work done in class. If you get behind you are supposed to take it home and work on it, we took tests and did our work. Just like most schools only difference is we got the help we needed.

The main thing to remember is this is a private Christian school, that is bran new. So they are still learning too.

There are only a couple of things I would change, I would offer food for the kids (like most schools) it would take stress from the parents. And also make it more affordable for people with low income. It's not fair to spend all your paycheck on school.

But over all it was a great place to learn and discover who you are and what you can accomplish. Filled with amazing people.

After we started they would not communicate with us. They said it was against policy for parents to talk directly to the teachers, they have to go through the director Lisa Stane. Why can't a parent talk to their teachers child? The first day they had her in the wrong grade. They acted like it was no big deal. They made promises about giving individual attention and working with the needs of the child since the classes are so small and lied to our face about things. Very disappointed.
