I've been to other charitable organizations before in the past, and I must say Christian Service of Abilene is by far the nicest, kindest group of people. From Linda at the front desk, Jerry was so kind to pray with us, giving words of wisdom and the nice ladies that help with putting items together.
Thank you all.

Beautiful place. Some of the ladies at the front have to be a little stern but that's understandable. Everyone I have ever encountered has been nice and compassionate. To where I can literally feel the goodness and beautiful spirits they have.
Keep a positive attitude when going here. A lot of the people here are volunteers. I've seen a lot of people that go here for help acting as if they have the right to be rude, ungrateful and demand things or help. Let us not forget these are people helping people because they choose to and not because they have to.
For whatever reason you are needing help be thankful. No one owes you or anyone else anything.
Be decent and kind.
Thank you Abilene Christian Center for what you do and for existing.

The people that work here are very awesome they are God's children that's for sure. They are very kind and very warm-hearted. They treated me and my family as if we were family of Their Own. I love these people to pieces for what they do and help the town of Abilene. God bless y'all and you're doing a great job

I myself was treated ok they were not rude or nice to me. I was treated more like if I was pathetic. Another person came in while I was waiting and was yelled at to sign in they refused to answer one single question until that person signed in their was 4 or 5 people in the office at the time and 3 people seated including myself and no one would help this person because they didn't sign in first. That person signed in then got yelled at to sit down and waite until they were ready just to ask a simple yes or no question. I think this was unchristian like in so many ways I felt so bad for this person I was already overwhelmed by my own situation and the staff in the office made it worse. Why do people have to sign in for one question. And yelled at the entire time. I must say though the black lady in the back that did my intake was very friendly and prayed for me and my family and then I got food and it was all expired and molded so I threw most of it away when I got home. I will go somewhere else if I'm ever in need again.

I have found that it’s impossible to het help here without an appt. Dilemma is if you work days you absolutely will have to take off work in order to make the appt because they do not have evening hours to accommodate those who work days. So save yourself the frustration and just go elsewhere. If I could afford to take off work I prolly wouldn’t be coming in for services.

The lady I spoke to today was very unfriendky. I explained I was starting a new job the next but had only one of pair of jeans and the required dress code was jeans. The rude lady who answered the phone that yes said that yes I could have exactly one pair but nothing else because it hey were too busy. She rudely told this two or three times specifically that' I was only getting one pair and I better be there by 11:20. I thanked her although confused and discouraged by her unwelcoming demeanor because I was asking for help with a pair of jeans and nothing else and the way she spoke was inhumane. I arrived at 1115 filled out a card and waited and was ignored so by 1135 I had to leave without my one pair of jeans and nothing else to catch the next bus home. This was a very dismal after I had been treated so kindly by this organization a few months. I asked myself why is someone so unfriendly and unwelcoming answering the phone for a Christian Service center because that makes absolutely no sense. I will not return.
