Went to hope for an overnight stay in Crisis. I tried to leave at first contact because the lady was so rude just opening the door. Sadly, I decided to keep going with the process. I told them upfront that I am highly allergic to bananas and BOTH meals I got had bananas on the plate. I told them I couldn’t eat it, they got me something else. The next morning, breakfast comes with a banana on the plate. I just didn’t eat at that point.
I came in for medications and also a way to get care and insurance. I was given two benzo’s that I’ve never taken, along with one pill for sleep and one for allergies. I left the next day with no insurance, no medicine, no transportation, and nothing to help me survive when I was out. I do not have medical insurance nor a drivers license that’s from this state. I still was never spoken to about insurance, housing, transportation, or any type of schedule to keep when I got out. There was no therapy involved and a nurse talked to me for maybe 5 minutes before shoving meds down my throat.
I was told I could release myself from the facility when the morning came. So the moment they turned the lights on in the morning, I asked to discharge. Nobody got the memo so nobody was ready for me. I stayed waiting until I began to raise my voice at staff telling them I would not have enough time to walk 6 hours home.
At this point, a worker named Josh, proceeded to tell me that is not what I said. Well Josh had been sleeping beside me in the middle of the unit for about a 1/2 hour. While he’s clocked in, supposed to be treating us and making sure we are safe.
After this, Angeline began to tell me that I need to settle down. I asked her if she would be comfortable walking through Del City, at night, alone. She stopped talking after that.
After I had to raise my voice at the staff, I was released around 15-20 minutes later. They only started processing my discharge when I had to yell at them. I was not being held against my will but it sure felt like I was never getting out at the end.
This place is SCARY when it comes to getting help.

I have been going to Hope Community Services (wellness and recovery) FOR MONTHS NOW. WITH NO LUCK!!! They are a joke. They schedule you with a case manager, who then schedules you with a different case manager, who then schedules you with someone else. I HAVE BEEN GOING IN CIRCLES FOR MONTHS. Then I was told a Recovery Support Specialist will be contacting me turns out he was still an active user and quit and dropped the ball thank god I dodged that bullet, then since they knowingly knew he had done quit and his clients needed to be informed or at least set up with yet another damn appointment, NOBODY CONTACTED ME. I had to find out by someone else telling me outside of the office. Then a therapist is supposed to be calling WELL HERE IT IS 3 MONTHS LATER AND NO PHONE CALLS. NO HELP. NO PROGRESS.... NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF TIME. I have called and called and called. Today October 30, 2024 I called and asked to speak to the Supervisor. Well what do you know, yep another damn voicemail. I was transferred and yet again not helped in any way. I left a voicemail with whom they say is the supervisor "Trast Coker" he then calls and let's my phone ring half a ring I guess so they can say that they call but THEY NEVER TRY TO HELP. I have called back 3 times today alone and waited ALLLLLLLL day wasting more of my time. i HAVE HAD TO MISS WORK TO GO TO APPOINTMENTS JUST TO GET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. THIS IS A JOKE PEOPLE. COME THE HELL ON. WHAT DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DO TO GET SOME HELP Maybe try drug testing your employees and you would have some employees that are actually capable of helping those of us who really want the help. And there is an employee of yours that has the nerve to sit there and tell me I do not want help or I am not trying. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! Hire better people and do a better job at helping people or get out of this line of work. No wonder the suicide is SKY ROCKETING to it's highest rate. BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!

I have been going here for mental health help for over five years. They offer case management, one on one, counseling, job placement, rehab, and they have medicine clinic to fill your mental health prescription on site. The free services and free medicine is worth dealing with their BS. Their customer service sucks. I get a new case worker every 4-6 months. I hardly get to build repertoire with anyone here. Sometimes they give me a hard time about getting my medicine. I dread going here every month because idk if they will give me a hard time. I continue to go because I need the care. I have had many friends tell me they hate this place and the service is no good for them. I figure you get what you up in. If you dress nice and professional, or clean, they will give you better service. If you talk with manners they will be respectful. Today, I called and they asked if they could put me on hold. Without me saying a word they tossed me on hold. I hung-up and called back. Then after answering my question the last female hung- up on me without ending the conversation. How rude. Do you not teach your people how to have a proper conversation? You could train your people in customer service. Also they don't pay their employees enoughoney to keep them above water. Therefore, the turn over rate is high, which is why I never has the same case manager for longer then a handful of months. They are LGBTQ friendly.

These are caring and compassionate people. They advocate for the best interests of their clients' health and quality of life. I was very impressed with this organization during my brief interactions there.

The available services on the surface do sound very helpful and encouraging. However, in execution this organization undermines its entire philosophy and purpose for existing. I think it would go without saying, but in dealing with individuals in emergency/crisis mode, attention to detail is pretty vital. Personally, I received a myriad of misleading and conflicting information. I wasn't capable of disseminating through all of it in my worsened state. My trust in these people only inspired false hope of resolution and wasted valuable time in receiving the actual care I needed. The amount of disorganization and inability to coordinate even within their own group was truly shocking. Finally, the most sickening part of the process, after navigating through their various channels following the instructions they outlined themselves, is how they lead you into a dead end and immediately eject from all responsibility and accountability. All the onus falls back on you, the individual in crisis just trying to alleviate their suffering who is now worse off for reaching out for help. There is not a much more disheartening and soul crushing experience than that, which I can personally attest to in my dealings with HOPE.

If you are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis, go anywhere but here. You will leave more traumatized than you came - or dead. This place is just a flop house for homeless people that masquerades as a "recovery center." Even half of the staff are living in homeless shelters. Unsafe is an understatement and they clearly do not have the patient's best interest in mind. If you value your life and safety, please seek other options.

I'm a patient at hope . My experience with them has terrible. I was homeless for 7 months. The case manager wasn't helpful to me at all. I eventually find my own place, was needing resources for help the rent and the deposit, she acted as if she just started working there. There is no comparison from her as well as lack of understanding of my situations, to me she is just trying to get payed. I also agee with Austin D
