The facility is nice. The workers are sometimes (maybe more than sometimes) rude. I have been a proud cat foster mom for a while, working with PVAS. But the way they treat fosters is ridiculous! They have treated me horribly. When I went to visit Laurie Andrews to see my foster babies, there was a rude manager who said right away, 'you only can go to one room, once a day'! I said ok, I'm only here to see my foster babies for an update. Then she said again very angry, 'ok but remember one room a day!' I was in shock. I never go there. I just went to see the kittens. I said ok I understand. She just seemed so rude and very angry. When I went in to see the kittens I noticed that their collars were switched and wrong. They had the wrong names and gender. I told them when I was leaving and they had to call this 'supervisor' the same one with a horrible attitude and she seemed so pissed that I had just told them about the mistake. I can't believe they treat us foster parents like that. We spend so much money and tons of our own time for these kittens. People don't understand that we have to bottle feed every 2 hours and warm up their pads constantly. And we have around 2-6 fosters at a time. That's the reason why I will NEVER foster for PVAS or Laurie Andrews. They have the worst reputation and it shows. I will gladly foster anywhere else!

My sister was in the process of trying to find an apartment that accepted big dogs so she can try to keep her puppy since he was escaping at her current home. She called and asked if they can take the dog she got from them and hold him during this process. She even asked if she found someone else to hold him if he can be picked up earlier and was told yes.. she can also visit him at any time. He was there for 1 day and they put him to sleep for being aggressive. No call to her at all about this decision. She thought this was a no kill shelter, as did I otherwise she would of figuered something else out. I was getting ready to take him into my home (2 wks later) and we found out he was put to sleep. Based on manager the notes whoever took him in LIED and made it seem as if my sister was not attached or cared for her doggy. That puppy did not deserve to be put to sleep. He was very friendly, very hyper because he was still a puppy and did have a family trying to find a place for him to live. He was wanted and my sister was trying to find a place for him which is why I told her id take him in. We are heart broken over this. This is not okay for this shelter to not notate the information given correctly or wvwn deciding so quickly to put a PUPPY to sleep. He walked into that shelter with no issues at all, he has never hurt anyone and hung out in the front of her house where a lot of people passed and saw him and never hurt anyone, I do not believe he was aggressive. This is horrible. Rest easy baby Kratos. :*(
Pictures below are when he would come visit my Ginger but Kratos was about 6-7 months old when he was put to sleep.

On December 23rd my wife and I came to this place where they love animals.
I thought they love animals. 🤔
We brought two kittens.
We found them in our backyard in a trash box. They slept all night.
We have a big German Shepherd, we can’t leave the kittens. The dog doesn’t like cats very much.
I was horrified that this place refused to let us take these kittens. They were indifferent to the fate of the animals. No help. They sent us to the animal control department. There they also refused us and told us to wait.
we told these girls 5 girls who work at the reception that we will leave these kittens at your door in a box, since you do not want to take them. they also answered us that if you do this we have cameras and we will fine you.

It is terrible to be without a heart and to be just a bureaucratic place.😡

We can’t just throw them out on the street.
But my comments are for this place. If you’re called an animal shelter, then be one.
We came for help because we love animals.
In another city where we lived before, we found animals and brought them to similar places and they helped us. They took animals. But here I met indifference and cold hearts. It’s very sad that people work in such places.

Don’t be like robots, no soul, no heart.

Now we are trying to hide them in the toilet from the dog. and we are trying to solve the problem ourselves where to give them or wait for the decision of the animal control department.

I took 3 “working cats” for our ranch. The Center is wonderful to work with and it’s an easy process. The Staff is so friendly. The cats will have a wonderful home and a great life. There is no fee for these cats, but I was happy to write a check.

About three years ago, we adopted our family pet from a Mega Adoption event here in Houston. The adoption was through this facility, PVAS. It went super smooth, and we even got a take home packet and adoption photos! We have been so happy with our Luna, she has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. Thank you PVAS, for all you do!

To all: Please do not buy puppies from puppy mills, there are so many dogs who need a home. Shelters are to the max in space and can no longer take other strays who are suffering in the street. Try your nearest shelter for a furry friend, your life will change for the better!

My one star means zero stars, just to leave a review. First of all, they mislead you. They don't giving you an exact answer to not "disclose" information. Today my family and I went looking for a new member of the family. For some context, we had adopted the year prior, the process was calm and easy. But, this time everyone had an attitude mainly a girl or whatever it was with a buzzcut, sorry pixy cut. It* was being super rude. We had our eyes on a beautiful orange tabby kitten, but, unfortunately we couldn't adopt him. Instead of telling us politely that he wasn't up for adoption she started telling us that we couldn't see his information nor with the other cats because later today they'll be gone. It didn't tell us anything about why we couldn't adopt the kitten, except for it being transfered. I'm scared to think that "transferring" is starting to mean putting an animal to sleep.
