I wish your church had better resources to conduct traffic. I got here at 9pm and been stuck on 121 for over an hour. I can’t even get home . Disappointed. Please do better. It shows how your church do not prioritize the safety of others. No one want to spend their night on a highway. Happy New Year ❤️🙏🏾

This church is not, openly embracing of those of us that are lesbian, bi, agender, or anything alternative of that sort, like many churches in Texas. It’s a nice place and nice people but if you are lgbtq you may wind up feeling very ashamed and most definitely not reveal these parts of yourself. Being LGBTQ is very silently shunned but more overtly there is absolutely nothing offered with any mention at all of any inclusivity. You’re quickly segregated into very specifically either FEMALE or MALE groups when you try to pursue the word and teachings of God further. You leave crying quite a few times because you wanted to be a part of something that wants no part of you and it shows.

The place is a blessing. The only thing we don’t like is that the kids ministry needs to teach them about the Lord. They know enough about playing games. They’re there to learn about God the father and Jesus. So teach them

Today marks exactly one year since I joined OCC, and it's been absolutely incredible! One of the things I love most is Pastor Conway's teaching style—he brings the Bible to life with props, making the sermons engaging and meaningful. In the past year, I've been baptized, participated in a mission trip with the Young Adults (YA), joined multiple ministries, and taken on a leadership role in YA. OCC ensures that NO ONE WALKS ALONE on their journey through life, and I'm grateful for that. The conferences are also incredibly enriching and impactful. If you're seeking a diverse church with Bible-based teaching and preaching, look no further!

I really wanted to LOVE this church. And I post this out of love- this church is very unorganized. I come for young adults as well as any other special events.

Pro’s:
- They have a good children’s ministry/childcare when you want to attend service.
- It’s a big church and they are always having community events as well (the fall carnival is such a a good time).
- Young Adults pastor has amazing sermons and I love their special events (talent shows, Q&A). I love their teachings.
- Everyone who I have encountered is super nice/helpful/polite.

Cons: As I mentioned, it was unorganized.
- Speaking on the childcare during young adults night (which is pretty packed and busy). I have been texted in the middle of service to come pick up my kids because they were about to close- yes, in the middle of service! Their childcare hours do not coincide with their service hours. It was pretty disappointing to get into the sermon and want to hear it in its entirety and then be told to come get your kids. I asked what their hours were and explained that I was new and thought that we just come get the kids once service is done. I got various answers (none of which coincide with when service is over). As a single mom- YA is my time to connect with the Lord uninterrupted (which I rarely get a chance to do). So be interrupted anyways really makes me feel like this isn’t the church for me since I can never have the full experience.
- NYE service- Tye Tribbett was performing so I looked forward to going. I sat in traffic and when I got here, they had chairs outside of the sanction because it was too packed- so watched him on the screens outside of the sanction in the hall- VERY DISAPPOINTING. They required RSVP (which I did), but no one scanned it or anyone’s as everyone entered. They said that it would fill up and the 8pm one did (I registered for the 10pm one) so why have people RSVP? I’m pretty sure they know how many seats they have and their capacities. And as I arrived, they were setting up chairs outside the sanction in the hall- seems like they didn’t anticipate this either. Good idea and love how they got Tye Tribbett and Alex Jean (for the kiddos) here. But poor execution for the guest. If I would have known I would be sitting out in the hall watching it on a TV instead of being in the sanction- after dragging my kids all over the kids building to drop them off at 3 classes- I would have just stayed home and watched it live stream with out taking 3 kiddos out of the house. Or I would have kept my kids with me in the hall instead of taking them to childcare.

I come here for the experience but I am met with disappointments due to lack of planning and execution. Again, there are some pro’s about this church but these are the cons that I have experienced & because of this I have decided not to attend on Sundays (which are pretty busy as well) and stopped going for a while because I need to obtain my own childcare to have the full experience- difficult and expensive to obtain childcare during the evening. I do hope that they see the discrepancies and maybe turn things around.

To the church: please consider that people come to you from all walks of life. As a single mother, it is very hard to get a moment alone (let alone a moment to go use the bathroom, lol). Church is my self care and the children’s ministry makes it hard to enjoy this-please have set hours and post it for parents to see OR inform staff that childcare is over once the sermon is over or have strict cut off time for YA (which I can’t imagine because we are getting the word- AMEN!). I love that OCC is in touch with the community and has events- but these need to be organized a bit better and better expectations need to be set for guest. For NYE- it would have been awesome if a disclaimer was posted that once the sanctuary was full that guest would be seated in the hallway to view on the screens. Also, if you are going to require RSVP and provide the QR code, ensure that someone is scanning it (have procedures).

Very welcoming and the spirit is all in there! Go if you can! I watch live if I don't go, but the in person experience is so much better!
