My six-year-old son just finished his first soccer camp this spring break with Dutch FC. The coaching staff were amazing both in skill development and inspiring his confidence while having fun, which is one of this organization's major goals. I have coached and managed up from u7 to high school academy level and this was easily the best we have been to. Highly recommended.

We've had such a great experience being a part of the Dutch family for the last 5 years!!! Both of our boys are part of the program, and we've been very happy with the club's philosophy in coaching and integrity in building strong soccer players!!!

Dutch FC is a phenomenal soccer club. We came to Dutch FC after being at a large club for 3 years, and my son has improved immensely. Coach Wilco truly cares about player development, and he puts his heart and soul into coaching and developing these kids. He knows every player’s strengths and weaknesses and works to improve all of them. He holds them accountable for their efforts but also compliments efforts and growth. I have seen him build a brand new team from scratch - bringing in 14/15-year-old rec players, working on their development, and going from the bottom of a 9v9 league, moving to Plano D3, and now being in the top of Plano D1 - all in one year’s time. Great coach and great club environment. Highly recommended!

Review of My Experience with Dutch FC

I want to start by acknowledging that this may sound like a typical disgruntled employee review, but I feel it's important to share my experience. My time at Dutch FC was marred by mistreatment and dishonesty, and I believe my story needs to be told.

I joined Dutch FC in May 2023 to head coach a 2010 team. I had turned down other offers because I brought in five players from LEYSA and indoor leagues. Things were going well, and I wanted them to make the jump to club soccer.

However, just three weeks in, I was informed that the plan had changed. I would no longer be the head coach but offered an assistant role with a significant pay cut. I was also offered a 2016 Academy team, which I had little interest in. Unfortunately, other opportunities were already filled, so I reluctantly stayed, negotiating a partial scholarship for my son and reduced pay for the teams.

After meeting the owner, I felt unwelcome and was assigned to practice on subpar fields—often on baseball fields or weedy corners. While the 2010 teams progressed, I struggled with the 2016 team due to my outdated approach and some impatient parents.

In December 2023, the owner said the head coach of the 2010 team would join me to coach the 2016 team due to possible player departures in the spring. This meant another pay cut, but I welcomed the help. Our practice location improved once the coach joined, but it soon became clear he was taking over. I was excluded from practice planning, and eventually, he brought in his own assistants. I was informed I was no longer needed because parents had threatened to leave if I stayed as coach. Yet, weeks later, I received messages from parents saying no such threats were made. I’m confident I was treated unfairly.

Regarding the owner, his former Director of Coaches nicknamed him "the Devil." While that may be harsh, it's not entirely off the mark. In July/August 2023, the Director of Academy attempted a hostile takeover of the club. All coaches received a message stating the fields were closed until further notice. After a few days, both Directors were let go, but strangely, the Academy Director was rehired a month later.

One week after my departure, the 2010 coach received a red card and asked me to step in to avoid a forfeit and $500 fine. I ended up coaching two games, saving the team from $1,000 in fines. When I requested fair compensation, the owner responded that it’s common for a parent to step in if a coach receives a red card, which is entirely inaccurate.

The owner has repeatedly referred to me as a "new coach," suggesting I needed mentoring from younger coaches. With nearly 10 years of experience and licenses from the US and Europe, including a UEFA C Diploma, I found this dismissive. The owner never attended any of my practices.

Before my five players joined Dutch FC, the 2010 team had a 1-1-16 record and was relegated to PPIL D2. My players became regular starters and helped the team reach the Classic League. One of my players is on the Olympic Development Team, one of just four in his age group.

On May 21, 2024, the 2010 coach falsely accused me of blackmail when I requested compensation. This libelous accusation, made in writing, was ignored by the owner, who suggested I “start a new chapter” and “wish you the best of luck.”

If I’ve learned anything from this past year in club soccer, it’s that Dutch FC is more concerned with politics than developing players.

UPDATE JUNE 18, 2024
I’ve been informed that at least half of the 2010 program has told the coach they are leaving. Great job, Dutch FC!

We love Dutch Football Club. My son is on the 2015 team with Coach Miguel, Coach Oliver and managed by Albert. Great team, great culture! My daughter is on the 2011 girl’s team which she has enjoyed being on for the past 2 years. And now my youngest son Luca will be joining the 2017 team with Coach Will. Convenient practice fields in Frisco!

This is a wonderful club, my son loves it! He has gotten so much better at soccer especially in his footwork thanks to the dedicated and talented coaches. He also enjoys the team, he's made some really good friends.

Our son loves the game and wanted to move on from playing recreationally because development was no longer effective, and there were just too many players that had no interest in participating or contributing. We wanted him to maintain his love for the sport and find a club he was comfortable with and this is where we landed. The coaches are wonderful and they genuinely care about not only developing the players skills, but also cultivating the love for the game.

Our son looks forward to practices and games, and only ever complains about how short it feels. We would say it's probably one of the best environments we've experienced and look forward to several more seasons.

Coach June 2012 Boys is great. Moved from a big name Frisco club. Finally seeing my son learn "Soccer" and not just kick and run! The amount of growth (especially in his confidence) is eclipsing what we saw from other coaches. I would recommend over any other club we have been a part of.
