Gateway Church in Frisco is a wonderful place! I visited for the first time and was truly impressed by the pastor’s inspiring message and the warm, welcoming community. Everyone was so friendly, and I absolutely loved the experience—I’ll definitely be back!

Everyone is very nice and friendly. The sermons are great as well. My only complaint is allowing people to come in late during praise and worship. I don't think it's fair to the people on time to have their time with God interrupted because of late parrishners. Please think about implementing a policy that if you are more than 5 minutes late you must wait in the lobby until praise and worship is finished.

Contemporary praise and worship plus a shared sermon video. A really good choice for a non-denominational church home.

A haven for those like me; oppressed young misfits. I for one due to my anti-conformist nature, and half-Japanese-half-white ethnic background.

Out of all the things I, a young man in my 20’s, have put effort into, this church was the one and only thing that actually gave me a return. Furthermore, the only return that was more than what I gave.

We live in a time where young people are financially siphoned for the old, addicted to various things, and deprived of opportunity for creating relationships and occupational results. I for one especially struggled to find a place in the world my entire life, until I started coming to Gateway.

I’ve been coming to Gateway less than a year, and have since made a ton of friends, particularly with other young adults, have been invited to three different small groups, have received countless prayers from the altar ministry team (some of which gave me their contact and sat down with me one-on-one), am currently in the process of coaching for worship, young adults, and students ministry, and have had my life make a significant financial recovery since applying what I’ve learned from Pastor Robert Morris’ messages.

We have 4pm services on Saturdays and 9am and 11am ones on Sundays. Every other Tuesday at 7pm, we have young adults services (that comes with childcare and often complimentary food (YAASSS)), and plenty of small groups to join. I’m part of an adults one, a young men’s one, and a co-ed young adults one.

The first person I met was James Mundt, the current bass player. Since then, he has volunteered his time three times to teach me bass one-on-one, and is supervising the official coaching sessions for the worship ministry.

Other worship team folks I met are leaders Tracy Pratt, Jaron Haas, drummer Chad, pianist Sean, guitarist Arnulfo, and guitarist William. I’ve also become good friends with folks on the young adults ministry, like Pastor James, Josh, Grace, Adrienne, Kyleigh, Dana, Anastasia, John, and Tre. Not to mention all the prayer warriors like Eric Kim, Dawn, Spencer, Devin, and many more.

What I especially love about Gateway is that it’s diverse, and not in a woke, patronizing way like the entertainment industry’s junk. It’s a place that genuinely attracts people of all ethnicities, all occupations, and all ages, including young people (that especially is a very good sign), not a place that artificially puts minority people in the spotlight to create a politically-correct facade.

In September of 2023, a particularly difficult time for me financially, in one of my small groups, I asked for prayer that the Lord would provide a sufficient-paying job, essentially. I was on the verge of eviction and bankruptcy at this time. I made it very clear that I wasn’t asking for money, but nevertheless, some people from my group gave me over $800, and that paid that month’s rent.

Furthermore, I contacted the benevolence ministry for any financial aid I could get, and they gave me $150 to spend on groceries, and I still have my big bags of rice that I bought with that gift, to this day.

They not only gave me generosity, but they gave me community, a gift so precious to me because I’ve been so sidelined all my life.

Right now, in addition to the worship, young adults, and students ministry, I am in the process of becoming a police officer for the city of Frisco, and I’ve received overwhelming support from my community at this church in terms of encouragement and prayer that the Lord gives me this job because it would be the answer to so many of my prayers, especially financial ones, as I am in consumer debt with multiple overdrawn checking accounts from poor service from Hertz Rental Car.

I will say though, while the Lord feeds the birds, he doesn’t throw the worms in the nest. You still need to go out of your way to build community here. Yes, you’ll be approached here and there, but you need to bear your own cross. Walk up to people and introduce yourself. Meet the folks at Connect Central. Go to the other services. You won’t regret it.

Most of the people are nice. I worked and attended here. They are definitely all about people. They say that everywhere. It’s true. I wish they were more about Jesus though. They care about filling seats and once you’re in, well… don’t ask for help or ministry for yourself. You won’t get it. The church is to take care of one another, but you won’t find it here. I miss the times when there were actual MEN in the church that would step up and help people who needed it. People who cared if you were struggling and would really take time to minister to you and make sure you’re okay.
You’re not allowed to fully express yourself in worship. If they are embarrassed by or find your worship style to be keeping people from filling seats, they will tell you to stop. Even if it’s just simple sign language. Sad.
It’s more of a business than a real church. I don’t believe that how it started, but unfortunately that’s how it gets when money and filling seats is top priority.

We've are new residents to the area and have attended the church service at the Frisco campus and have been watching at home online. We absolutely love this church, the people and most importantly to us, we feel that we can relate to the sermons. How the sermons are delivered, whether it's via a projector, online or in person, are touching, moving and very well done. The live music is great. The people are genuine. The kids area is wonderful and our children love it. We are very blessed to have found Gateway and my wife and I feel closer to God than ever before because of Gateway. It's been life changing to be part of Gateway.

Very disappointed. Unfortunately after going to and becoming a member here for years I ran into hard times and asked the church for help (we tithe) and they wouldn’t even help with food after saying they could do that the next day. They had me submit hours worth of documentation of bills only to tell me helping me in any capacity didn’t fall under their guidelines. This went on for about a week. They have done absolutely nothing in my time of need. Not what the Bible calls the church to do. I’ve reached out to them multiple times explaining my experience and confusion and they won’t even reply to my email. This was a genuine need (not a lifestyle) and I have to say the hurt is real. It’s confusing. Very disappointed in how all of this was handled. I would like to have an explanation at least.

Update: this pastor replied to my review almost a year and half later. I have a string of texts. The messages were supposedly sent to the church and after a couple more weeks still no one from the church has responded or cared. This church is the definition of toxic mega churches pretending to care and help others (not to mention brag about how much money they receive from their attendees) yet do nothing when it’s actually a member in need. Doesn’t matter if you tithe. Doesn’t matter how difficult a situation you’re in.

In light of the churches response to Roberts sexual abuse toward a child I now understand more why the church sympathized with my abuser and refused to help me, a single mother with 2 kids to care for and left with absolutely nothing.
