This thrift store is well organized and fairly easy to get around in. All clothes are 99 cents which is a great deal! On Monday, they have a stuff a bag deal for $5 for clothing. So far, all the workers have been friendly and helpful. It seems like they have new items every week or so. Items are at thrift prices, not resale, so you can find some good deals.

I am a member who also participates in the Comal County Senior service facility woodcarvers group. This facility, although working on many improvements the director is diligently looking in to. The staff is incredibly kind to the seniors who frequent the facility. I am always impressed by the way the staff treats the senior users with dignity and sincere care. The director could not possibly do a better job than he already does. He is a true supporter of the center and all its members and guests. His support of the Woodcarving Group which meets there every Wednesday and Friday provides the carvers the opportunity to work on their woodcarving projects. This is a useful activity for all the members of the group and is continually visited by the seniors of the center. This Senior Service Center is irreplaceable!

This place to review section is supposed to be about the Senior Center as a whole, not specifically the volunteer thrift store. This is a nice place for local seniors to get involved in their community, find fellowship with other seniors, volunteer, and stay active. It is much more than just a thrift store- the thrift store is run by senior volunteers, and the profits go to find their other volunteer efforts like providing meals to house-bound seniors. I have always enjoyed the thrift store, and have often found really eclectic, funky prices I have to this day. Like any thrift store, you may not find something you like on each visit, as items are constantly rotating and it is not perfectly organized (what thrift store is, though?) I have found unbelievable deals there- and I have also noticed some items that are overpriced. I've asked for a reduced price on a chair once based on a few things I pointed out and they were happy to make a better deal. Overall, this place offers so much more than just the thrift store.

It's very hard to review the Senior Center, as the physical plant is in transition, and that limits staff in its ability to perform their mission. Currently the building is showing its age, but funds from a County bond issue have already been budgeted to improve and update it. Staff are very cordial and helpful. So this rating should be considered to be temporary with deficits based primarily on the age of the facility. Staff was wonderful.

There are many fun activities to choose from, great people to socialize with, the staff and volunteers are amazing, helpful and friendly. The thrift store has amazing deals and many items, there is also an auction every month.

This is an all-around terrific place! Seniors can come socialize, exercise, and get a nice lunch for a low price! And you just never know what kind of treasure you'll find in the thrift store!

Bingo was fun. Full house, had to set up more tables.

Too bad the food made from the food bank is awful! I feel bad for those that must eat there.

The entire staff is friendly!! Needs remodeling bad.

I was there help hosting the Halloween Dance and the Seniors where absolutely AMAZING! They really cater to our seniors and really look out for them.
