We visited the Magnolia location and Lawana (hope I spelled that right) was amazing!! She introduced us to the mission of Kids’ Meals and shared all the ways this organization was helping to feed children in Montgomery and Harris Counties. Our team packaged over 450 DIY meals and we left with so many ideas of how we can continue to spread the word about Kids’ Meals to others! We will definitely be back with lots of decorated bags!!!

I love the mission of Kids Meals Houston. I really didn't fully understand the need until we volunteered and its eye opening on the food insecurity concerns right here in our own city. Kid's Meals is going on 18 years giving back to the community. It gives me such great pleasure to volunteer along with my fellow FedEx team members each time knowing that we are making a huge difference in the lives of so many children. The staff, led by Monique, are so fun to work with when we go help. I can't wait to sign up for the next volunteer event. 🙂

Yesterday was my first time ever volunteering at Kids Meals! I came with a group from work and were welcomed with a check-in process and a brief explanation about the importance of their mission, making the experience more meaningful. We were bagging up "shelf stable" lunches in brown bags, and they had everything laid out for us to get to work quickly. The employees were helpful to give us tips on how to work efficiently and keep going once we ran out of the initial supply of food items. Everything was clean, well organized, and the hospitality for the volunteers was really nice. There were all kinds of people there...corporate groups, families with older kids, and a retired couple. This is a great volunteer opportunity and I will happily go back to do it again...especially with the increased need over the summer.

Kids Meals is a first class operation. I have volunteered at many charities and I have found Kids Meals to be very organized, professional, appreciative, and staff that are unbelievable in giving so much of themselves. I have volunteered with Kids Meals weekly for 9 years since retiring and staff go out of their way to come by and personally THANK us for volunteering. I have never left without Monique, John and Beth stopping by with a warm thank you. Kudos to this organization for a job well done in serving these deserving children.
