I'm currently homeless. Living in a room I'm renting. Last night I was threatened bodily harm by the rightful tenant I rent from over a conversation about money. Mind you I pay $450.00 to her I was just trying to give her a little advice as I learned from my past mistakes to help her save funds as she and husband are struggling to make rent, etc. Yet I noticed when I pay my share they tend to go buying cases of beer items un needed in the small apartment yet she shares with me how stressed she is about money for the rent and car. I don't feel safe here I need a place to go a room to rent close to my job for the same $450.00

so here's my honest review. we came to houston and found out our house was pushed a few months forward. no big deal family promise can help a family in need right ? wrong. it started off fine but they get real controlling real fast. they forced us to switch schools for the kids or get kicked out. if you have a job they assume you have money for a hotel. (screw the car payments & insurance we dont need it). what I've discovered is its not about you succeeding when you enter the program, or exiting successfully. its about bringing more people in so staff can get a paycheck and the program recieves funding. they dont really care if you have anywhere to go at the end of the day or if you leave. you are nothing but a way for the program to receive more funding in the end. i would advise against entering the program. you'll get around 4 weeks if that. then its back to the streets. save yourself the headache, find something better.

Family Promise staff and volunteers are amazing! They are professional, efficient, friendly and helpful... always reassuring community members and guests they serve. I feel particularly comfortable donating to and supporting this organization because they are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our neighbors and their families who fall on tough times. I always feel a particularly personal and human touch whenever I contribute, knowing that in whatever small ways I can, I’m directly helping someone in need and those who appreciate it.😍

We have co-labored with Family Promise to help meet the needs of families in the Fort Bend County area for years. I am so proud to be in partnership with this entity because of their holistic approach to giving families a hand up rather than just granting hand outs. The transformation that takes place through the programs that families can participate in is an amazing gift to be able to witness and participate in. Keep up the great work!

The Staff at Fort Bend Family Promise including Ms. Vera, Ms. Etta, Ms. Diane and so many others not only are a lifeline for the wonderful families they serve each and every day throughout the day, including weekends and holidays, but they have developed amazing partnerships with our church and other churches and really work with the youth at supporting churches so that these youth understand that their support of Family Promise is truly valued. The work that Fort Bend Family Promise does is invaluable and really words cannot capture their genuine commitment to helping the families become independent and to thrive. These ladies and the staff are truly angels.

Family Promise is one of my chosen local charities. The guests have been awesome. I get to know them by staying overnight with them., helping with making meals for them, and visiting with their families. We all get into situations that we need to call for help and Family Promise and volunteers provides for that. Cool program, cool people!

Family promise fills a need that is facing more families every year. Myself and my church are glad to help with this hands on,worthwhile program. The parents and children give me more joy than I am able to give them the security they need. I never knew how a place to sleep and a good meal can allow these families to attend to other aspects of their lives. God works his miracles through his children.
