Good Samaritan has truly been a blessing to me. I knew I could go there in be treated with respect even though I was homeless. I received the food I needed as well as the encouragement I needed.
The staff and volunteers are very professional. They really do care and offer encouragement to those who need it. I thank God for Good Samaritan. Continue to do an excellent service to the community.

if you need to volunteer or do community service anywhere, you should do those hours here. they do wonderful work for the community, and can reach more people with more volunteers! the staff is just so lovely and hardworking. they treated me with respect and kindness and I’m so glad I was able to spend my time here. thank you guys for everything

Great resource for food when you need help. When you arrive, super friendly volunteers greet you and get you signed up which takes a few minutes. You then get a cart of food they pre-loaded with food. They also had non-food items to grab, if you want. I got some sunscreen and a hair product.
If you have a car, you take the cart to your car to load or you can take it to a seating area to pack your bags (make sure to bring your own but they do have paper bags). I took the bus so I had to choose strategically.
I was surprised by the selection of fresh produce I had. Most of the food seems to be from stores (I noticed Walmart brands) that were going to expire. I got strawberries, blueberries, kale, eggs, some pastas and rice, canned goods, peanut butter, mango pico de gallo, a chicken wrap, bagels, pork chops and some other items. I left behind all of the sweets like cookies and cupcakes sadly and there was chocolate milk that I didn’t take either because I don’t drink milk and I had to carry everything a few blocks to the bus.

Overall, a wonderful and easy experience. You do have to wait between visits, approximately 2 weeks but they explained it’s not super rigid. If you come one week, you just need to skip the next week before coming again.

I literally was down to nothing but flour and yeast so I could make bread and my next paycheck needed to go to bills and my dogs’ food. So grateful for this organization and the lovely people. I hope to volunteer with them someday!

Omg these people are so nice. Full disclosure I have a business relationship with them. The people I place there call me and tell me how awesome they are so I had to go myself to see and yes they are. It's a small but mighty operation and the staff is AWESOME.
