I don’t understand how companies think this is a deterrent to being safe out in a real working environment. Sitting behind computers for hours on end , passing these very grade 1 questions like I’m suppose to be better off safe when I go to work . Employees are all grumpy and I’m sure they all hate their jobs . This is a complete waste of money , resources , and well TIME !

Companies should pull out of this place and stop requiring sitting behind a computer and doing the useless physical activities they have you do in order to move on .

This place is stupid and I’m even more stupid for even participating in this crap !

Just had the worst time with ISTC Beaumont in a lot of years. Saturday Feb 1st, was not allowed into the facility I'm working at because 3-4 weeks earlier when I was there to get updated on my card, after over 5 hours, someone didn't print the right dates. So I lost a $600 day and can't go to work till I get it fixed on Monday morning back to ISTC again.🤬
When I had finished the classes and was getting my card, I asked if everything was updated a d told yes I was good to go. I guess I took it for granted that I was dealing with competent people and never looked at the card, and gourds never mentioned the dates for a few weeks. Until it showed a expired date. When I got to istc Monday all I was told, was "sorry". How about a ISTC Gift card for $600 to cover the inconveniences.
Everyone that comes through there have to be competent at their jobs to stay employed! Should be the same for ISTC. A lot of hi tech systems in there, and that hi- tech system is only as good as the $2 monkey pushing the buttons, and may need a new monkey. There were several others that were there for the same reason. Not one bit happy.

Honestly the worst experiences at a safety council. I’ve been waiting for nearly 7 hours to get a badge. They called me up at 12pm for the badge, and them telling me that I don’t even have a profile. Ladies in the trailer told me to give my company a call and come back into the office without signing in. After I do that, new lady tells me to sign in all over again and be behind of the list. Unbelievable.

Days of "please don't sue us" classes. Wait in line for hours to sit in front of a computer for hours. Repeats the same info over and over. Only changes between classes are the alarm codes and emergency numbers.

This doesn't make anyone safer, if anything it desensitizes people to safety. I have dangerous craft in high stress environments. This is by far the worst part of my career.

The part of retirement I look forward to the most is never having to come back to ISTC. Where the 10 self check in kiosks never, ever, work. This place is just soul crushing.

I'd rather get a colonoscopy and root canal while serving on jury duty.

The women that run the computer room are rude and power tripping. To top it off, the place has weird rules like you must wear the headphones. I havnt seen these women clean a damn thing yet. Just spray a half can of lysol and go. The courses on blasting are a bit outdated as well. Might want to fix that.

Seriously we pay for this rude power trip experience? I came through first but my men will not be coming to this place

A zero stars for recommendation for both safety training and drug testing. I’ve been working in plants for 40 years and can only recommend the plants stop funding this place. Completely disorganized and pretty much worthless staff. This place is taking in money from companies, yet does nothing to make the process easier or more expeditious. Plan on waiting hours sitting around waiting at this place. Drug testing took almost as long as the basic training. Shame on this company for providing this poor of service to our communities and plants.
