It is providence. It is amazing that a town as small as this has an Islamic center 😭.

Friday prayers start at around 1:50 PM, Alhamdulillah!
Not much activity during other prayers unfortunately. This is, however, slowly changing! Alhamdulillah 😊

The building is in need of some repairs both externally and internally. (Nothing extreme which the brothers and sisters going there can pitch in for 😊)

I have to give 5 stars, because I do enjoy having a place to come and worship. Its literally the only masjid in the region unless you go to Paris or Tyler. But this place is in desperate need of renovations, with a bad roof, and brick work falling apart. I wish we could could put together a committee to renovate it. But renovations aside, the community is very active, the Imam is literally a member of the MSA who donates his time generously to give the Khutbah every week. The students regularly have pizza for lunch and get together to have a good time.

Mashaallah, very well maintained mosque. If you're studying in Texas A&M Commerce, then this mosque is 0.3 miles from the campus. Peaceful place.

I did not see a full review on here more thana few words so I thought I would give a full review for someone interested in joining or even just someone looking into Islam that wants an idea of what they are getting into.

Full review:

Knowledge: This association has immense knowledge when it comes to Islam. I learned more in two weeks than I had learned an immense amount of time growing up or researching on my own.

Helpfulness: The Imam does more than expected of him to help others. He has personally helped me inside and outside of the Masjid and I have immense respect for him.

Practicality: I truly hope (Mashallah) that a Masjid such as this becomes present where I live or I move close to one soon. Driving to the masjid often is not practical for me (gas finances). I tried to go daily, but life has not aligned with that (yet).

First Impressions: At first I was very skeptical, but I quickly became relaxed. As a Muslim who grew up with a strict middle eastern side of the family and having not been into a mosque since my dad left, joining other Muslims in prayer made me nervous. Contrary to how I felt at first, the Imam and others made the experience relaxing before, during, and after prayer. I truly believe anyone looking to go to a mosque for the first time should visit this Masjid.

Who could benefit going: Anyone from a practicing Muslim, to a new Muslim, to even a fellow brother/sister of the books (Christian/Jews) or anyone eager to learn about Islam (for spiritual knowledge or just interest).

Overall impression: In two weeks I learned an immense amount of knowledge just by coming to this Masjid. I forsee myself going in the future (Mashallah) and I hope it continues to grow and help show the actual peace and love Islam has to offer (contrary to what the media wants to show).

Background: I had known the Imam for a short amount of time outside of the Masjid and personally asked him questions about the religion, in which he had full knowledge over and helped answer my questions. After inviting me to prayer, I finally joined and loved the experience.

Who am I reviewing: I am a Muslim who was raised in a strict Muslim home. My dad's side of the family (middle eastern) did not teach us Islam correctly, but later disowned us due to our lack of knowledge in Islam and it's practices. As someone with that past, I was very nervous joining in prayer as I had that "back of the head" feeling of judgement would come when I was first asked. Much like many others who felt or are feeling Islam is full of judgment, I was wrong. I respect what the brothers are doing at this Masjid and I hope it continues to grow.
