I use to live here when I was 13 in 1989 and I miss it so much. It was a small house back then. I miss my staff and roommates. We use to shoot pool and just had so much fun. I'd love to visit this new place

I was once a kid at this placement this place is really unprofessional. I was at the TLP part over on comal and it was just all bad they lied on me about things I didn’t do the higher management would sit in the office and do their makeup and hair and say they where in meetings to avoid kids. I can only say out of the 5 or so months I was there .their was 3 staff that don’t deserve the management they have or was actually good to me And the rest of the kids. In the 5 months of me being there the management was changed and everything was down hill. Since new management I felt like I was very targeted because I would speak up for what was wrong and some of the other kids would be scared to do so. My therapist was a very good therapist and was the only therapist I’d liked up until like the last week of me being there thats with my whole life of being in therapy she’s the only one I felt as if she was good. She then also lied on me and as my therapist I would assume differently. But over all she was good. Working wise I had 2 jobs graduated early and transportation was a headache do to they never really wanted transport on time so I was almost always late until i left one of my jobs and my other was walking distance. I felt as if emotional and mental abuse is very much apart of this placement. it’s draining living somewhere that you don’t feel like you can relax when you get off of work. I left and was arrested and went to jail and felt as if that was way way way way better then being at this placement. I’m just so happy to not be there.

Connections is an amazing place that provides great resources for the community! The counselors there are licensed professionals who are dedicated to strengthening youth and families. As a member of this community we are thankful to have compassionate, hardworking therapists such as Kristin Ray providing high quality services.

Connections offers counseling services to children, youth and families in addition to emergency youth shelter to youth and children in foster care. The counseling team is professional, most are licensed by the State or are in the process of becoming fully licensed. And many have been with the agency for many years, having started their careers with the agency. All of the counseling team receive training advanced training working with youth and children that have experienced traumatic events which result in a multitude of issues and at-risk behaviors. The counselors, like Kristin Ray, are committed, dedicated, compassionate, and hardworking ensuring that the best interests of the youth are being met.

I love giving to my community. I take clothes and bedding all the time. I have donated food for the holidays. I am grateful for the work that this organization does for these kids.

Please remember them when you are cleaning out your clutter which is their treasure. ❤️

Incredibly unprofessional! The only two appointments we had scheduled were cancelled by the provider (Elizabeth). One notification came on short notice (the day of the appointment) and the other after the scheduled appointment time. Inconsistency left me doubting their ability to perform the services needed. I would not recommend them. Save yourself the inconvenience.

This place can't watch the kids, kids over come the staff. Staff is very rude let's kids wonder out the facility and won't call law enforcement when needed, kids have access to illegal drugs and staff won't search them properly almost as if they allow them to have the substance. They allow the kids to hook up with each other and hug, kiss, and sit on each other calling it socializing. Kids have gotten pregnant at this facility and caught STD's don't allow any kids to go here no matter how bad is needed
