I have loved being a YMCA member in many cities for years. I just moved to San Antonio. As much as I love the campus and the staff at this location, my common complaint is the early morning hours limit the location choices for the YMCA around here. I wake up at 5:30 to fit in a 6AM workout and this location has the best campus and best staff, but most limited operating hours. If they ever open at 6, Im there!

This is by far the best YMCA I have ever been to. And it is because of the staff. They care about all of their members and make us feel welcome every day. We have 2 other YMCA'S closer to where we live but we love our Walzam family. I also love the EGym and we play Pickleball there 3 times a week. Thanks Walzam staff for everything you do!

Don’t come here if you want to workout as the equipment is some BS online scanning band and otherwise all you can use is a few dumbbells and a treadmill. They couldn’t let me workout and said I needed an orientation. I’m not gonna break a hip trying to use a machine when I’m used to using regular weights. I get most the clientele at this YMCA is older but that’s ridiculous. don’t waste your time coming here if you’re younger and fit and want to workout

I wouldn't have guessed there was so much activity inside that building when I looked at it for the first time. There's a full court basketball gym in there! It's kinda tight in there, though.

The Summer program is very good for kids that can ACTUALLY ATTEND! My children had been going since July 7th. Paying $480 for three kids every week. So when my children come home,I ask how their day was? They explain with so much excitement in their voice. So the Summer program is not the problem!

The PROBLEM is Keeping my money! Also when someone is sick & that we have either irresponsible parents or Staff members who do not tell anyone that someone is sick. My husband and I work too hard to have $480 go down the drain because you have to pay in advance for the next week! Now we have to take off work in order take care of our children (which is fine we are there parents) this however is because someone dropped the ball. If your kids or yourself are sick STAY HOME! Others can’t afford to take off work. Think about others before you do something like this! My kids are sick and can’t attend. Strep throat is NOTHING TO PLAY WITH! Neither is $480 that they are refusing to refund back. I understand that they have a policy. I do too! Some policies needs to be changed or Accommodations need to be made. Days are very unpredictable death sickness, family emergency anything can happen. The YMCA its definitely not like it used to be when I went! We were sick mom and dad paid they received a refund and we were good trust me I KNOW! My parents didn’t play about they’re hard earn money either. My kids will not be able to finish this week out there so WHY KEEP MY FUNDS for students that are not in attendance !?

I am starting to really dislike this place. There's never anywhere to sit for basketball games. They have removed over half of the chairs. Now, they are locking us out until 10 minutes before the game. We drive from the other side of town to get here and our players don't even have time to use the restroom, change, warm up. Plus we have little ones also needing to use the restroom. We don't pay all of this money to get this kind of treatment. This is ridiculous!

First visit. Attended 2 classes. Instructors are excellent. New professional equipment is still arriving and not available for use, just yet. What is already an extremely welcoming space for senior citizens to attain and retain physical fitness is about to have the professional grade exercise stations that will continue to enhance strength, stamina and balance. Hallmarks of a long, active, and fruitful life.

I had joined in the effort to become healthier as I recovered from back surgery. Going there really helped me a lot.
The staff works with the patrons to ensure we become more fit without danger. They've got a great little pool, that's easy to get in and out of; machines and free weights; fitness classes.

Go there and get yourself healthy.
