Do not recommend. We were on our way to target had seen they had an adoption event at PetSmart and we have been looking for a furry friend to add to our household. We walked around saw the all the dogs that were there but also we came across a lonely calico cat, immediately we felt a connection and asked if we could see her. We held her for a while and I talked through with my husband and we agreed she would be a good fit and felt it was meant to be since we were on the search for a cat to add to our household. We asked around and they said they would get to someone called Tony, he ended up telling us it would be a free adoption since they do not mainly work with cats but we would have to show proof of spay and vet checks within 4 months, we agreed of course. He gave us a contract and we signed paperwork and were excited to have a new family member. We asked if they could hold her while we went for the stuff we needed at target and to buy her food and toys to have at the house here in Brownsville ( since we are from Fort Worth but we come often for work). When we got back from target the Tony guy which to our knowledge is the “ manager” of this organization saw us and panicked then asked to talk to us somewhere other than were the kitten was which was at the very back, he told us he had messaged my husband which he did and stated she was sick and that she was going to get checked out by the vet which was obviously upsetting and concerning but we waited for a couple days. My husband had gotten back to him 2 days later to ask for her, he then said she was on antibiotics and that she should we ready to go in 2 weeks. 2 days later my husband gets a call from Tony and he stated the kitten had passed and that if we were still interested he would send pictures of some other ones (which he never did) that were dropped off but were still nursing so they wouldn’t be ready to go yet. Come to find out today by the pages post the cat was given to someone else and all tony was saying was a lie which is SUPER unprofessional. If he thought we weren’t a good fit he should’ve talked to us and let us know why instead of lying to us. In my opinion tony should not be in charge of this organization this was super unprofessional of him.

Please do not donate to this cause it is a scam. You can call for your self they do not rescue dogs. Do not allow dogs to be in their program. I offered to Forster and they also rejected that offer. This organization is a complete scam. They are for profit because they make money off your donations and the adoption fees.I even asked if they had information on any other organization that could help with having this dog placed in a good home. The man was rude and offensive which I have it all audio recorded and offered absolutely no help.

It's funny it says animal, but ok. Then I call and a lady response is very rude. We don't care for cats. She says. It does not make sense to put animal. Put dogs only. 😒
