Great place to get food for families in need. I volunteered here and was surprised by how much food they give away per person or per household. They are very generous with what they give.

For anyone dealing with food insecurity in the Grand Prairie area, consider visiting to see how they can assist. They do close their doors at 1 pm, so be sure to get there as early as possible.

This place says they wont turn nobody down that need food but they turned me away. I have been coming here for years. Every since that big fat white lady with the hair under her arms has been in office it has been harder to get food. If an American citizen needs to eat you should feed them. You shouldn't have to break an arm and leg or provide proof of every little thing just to be able to get food that's a day old. They are so strict and all they give out is day old food or food that's already spoiled. I do not recommend this place if you really need food. Go to hearts & Hands

I came for rental assistance. They assisted a woman in front of me who needed electricity bill help only. The lady at the front desk told her they can only help with rental assistance and NOT electricity, which did not make sense and gave the woman an intake form. When it was my turn, I told her I needed to apply for emergency rental assistance. She then tells me they have no funding for rental assistance but they can help with my electricity/utility bill? She just told the lady in front of me they can’t assist with electricity. Lies. Blatantly lied in my face and did not even take my intake form that I took the time to complete. I was shocked to receive this kind of response from this place as it was my first time ever needing this as I am not financially stable at the moment. Don’t know what to do at all. This is horrible for the people of Grand Prairie who are in emergency need and have no where to turn or go. The churches have ran out, the charities have ran out, even predatory loans aren’t accepting applications easily and jobs are extremely hard to come by at this time don’t even get fooled. I won’t get started on the whole of Texas. Also not even trying to racial profile but most people getting assistance were HISPANIC! Everyone else was obviously getting turned away and cherry picked if they wanted to help you or not. Very blatant and nobody is saying much about it.

Absolutely do not recommend. A few weeks ago they gave me a full cart of outdated food from 2-3 months back. (That was the first 🚩)There were some dates I found that expired 2023. They don’t tell you the income limits from the jump so that you can give them ALL your info just for them to steal/ sale your information. Once you have given them all your info that they ask for then they tell you they can’t help you or that you are over the income limits. I would figured they would have figured I made to much by the first set of bank statements I provided, but no they wanted more & more info from my banking information. They may have updated the application with income limits by now hopefully but just a few weeks ago there was no income limit stated. Once I went to the little dirty back office to speak to the lady after 30 seconds of speaking with her I knew she did not want to help with me. They treat you as if they are better than you when you come here all to tell you they can’t help you. While waiting in the lobby I see the workers sharing un expired food with each other going around the office asking all the workers if they would like some. I’m guessing they eat all of the good food that’s still good a not expired yet then give ppl who really need the food the expired food. Don’t EVER GO HERE FOR ASSISTANCE if you really need help, you will be upset with how they run this dirty place while wasting your time. They pick & choose who they want to help and who they don’t. ZERO STARS given.

Went to the food pantry, there were only 2 others ahead of us in the lobby. They need ID's for each household member on the application and one document with current address. The entire building was very clean. I definitely recommend going for food pantry. Everyone was super sweet.

Food pantry is wonderful . The manager working on our utility assistance was very rude. We didn't get help from them but quickly got help elsewhere from another place. The caseworker was very sweet and helped us out without being rude.
