The Opportunity Center in El Paso, Texas, has 14 programs and 10 facilities for the homeless, abuse victims, displaced families, or people needing social services and medical care. In the heart of downtown El Paso, you do not see bands of homeless people camping out all over the sidewalks or panhandling like in Los Angeles. We were surprised to see how clean and quiet the area is in spite of all the news coverage on TV about floods of immigrants crossing the border in Texas
