I had a bunch of donations that I had been saving for the Child Crisis Center for quite sometime and today I finally went in to drop them off. I walked in and the woman at the front desk was extremely rude. She did not greet me and gave me a look as if I was bothering her. She was also sitting way in the back of the office and did not walk up to say hello and stayed sitting down in a chair. She was speaking to a gentleman from a thrift store. I told her I had a lot of donations and she asked me what they were with such a bad attitude. I told her our donations consisted of various items and she told me to throw them in the shed in the back and turned away. The male that was with the woman told me he would help me unload my donations and then continued to tell me that they have a ton of donations. I told him that I would take my donations else where because it seemed as if they did not want mine. I am upset because no one should be treated like that especially when they are trying to help others. I am not asking to be treated like royalty but a greeting and some friendliness would have been appreciated. If someone has to work with the public they should learn to practice civility. Unfortunately the woman made me feel so uncomfortable and upset that I will not be going back.

I was a child when i moved into this home. My mom was struggling with her abusive boyfriend at the time, and he kicked out of his place. Moved into my Aunt's but she wasn't very nice to us, so my mom grabbed my brothers and i and she dropped us off at this place. I remember crying every night because she wouldn't call us during the day, but the staff would always comfort me. I still remember my room, the hallways and the play/living room area. My room was on the corner of both hallways, two bunkbeds and a twin bed in it, and my bed was the one by the window. I had tinkerbell pillowcases and princess blankets lol, and i remember the staff would sit during the night in the hallway incase we needed something, it made us feel safer too. I also remember a racoon always getting into the trashcans outside and it would drive the staff crazy haha. I remember this one day we woke up super early and got dressed, and we went on a trip to watch a baseball game! Best day ever !! Anyways, my point is that this place took my brothers and i in and they made us feel safe, they were there when we needed a shoulder to cry on and they helped us out so much while we were going through so much at home. We were there for a couple of months, maybe like 3 but lemme tell y'all, nicest people ever! & the trips to the park were always my favorite!! I can even say that i'm still friends with a set of twins that we met there! They were my roomates, and we have eachother on facebook and talk every now & then. So one thing is for sure, that if you need someone to trust your children with, i would recomment this place so much! <3

I went through the program the first time and they were great Mrs. Marina Castro I guess their opinion was that I wasn’t in need of a program so they treated me very staggered I guess you got to come in looking like a bomb to get assistance not have pride in yourself and how you look.
