If you choose to seek charity here with this nonprofit organization, it's best to wake up on the right side of the bed, eat your cheerios, and arrive here early with a ton of patience. And your crossword puzzle or favorite digital game.

The communication by the staff is poor at best when they schedule you for an appointment here. I overheard a few times folks say they were scheduled for ten am, then moved down to 10:40 am. on the spot from a couple of staff.

You will meet others from all walks of life just as Jesus had done so, when he walked t h e earth, met with many souls to feed the hungry, the poor, and the huddled masses!

Mostly, here are poor Texans that happen to live locally. I saw the homeless, the handicapped. 1, who acted like they needed a cane but walked just fine. Many of the young unemployed mothers drive new expensive vehicles filling their hatchback with enough groceries to feed a family of 4 to 6 adults. That should be monitored better by the management HERE. To look further by PROOF into the real number of res. plus income for the young women's home. Before accepting their applications so easily. Giving all young mother's a free pass to feed many cause they show up with one needy boy or girl tugging on their clothes. And by allowing them to fill their baskets above full. I saw some were over-filled.

Then, 1 escorted me around their small one room one lane marketplace as an able bodied senior citizen, and by directing me to only pick one item per shelving unit. Or one item of goods in a refrigerated cooler. One item from an ice box. ¡¡VERY BIASED BY FAVORITISM. A choice by the management and the STAFF. Because this place is practically run by women, the volunteers or mgr.

I only saw one older gentleman directing people up front.. He was the only one using his voice directly by calling out the applicant's names loudly enough outside with up to 75 others on a morning in March 2025.

Speaking which, the morning chaos was mainly because they overbooked appointments on a Tuesday morning. They're closed on Sunday and Monday's, and the staff was disoriented by ten. I heard excuses like Oh," we're remodeling now. But not the one lane grocery cart lanes inside are being remodeled but outside in the back storage area only! They do need to open the lane double lanes inside because the lady in front of me could not make her mind up inside the refrigerator zone. Blocking the lane.

I saw a few contractors working out back of the building, banging around. No big deal. Normal activity when you're having to grow this nonprofit faster. Because folks are hungry now and need food to survive.

Many American seniors are now relocating here, too, from American cities with huge overflow of populations of homeless people. Living in streets. A few showed up & now that our state's SNAP program is cutting down on people's budgets more than I've ever seen it before. Like most senior citizens on fixed incomes are only getting a meager $23 a month for 2025. Being penalized by the federal government and our Social Security Administration.

My suggestion to the working class thinking about retirement is to stay at your jobs, no matter how much you hate it there. Because you'll be sorry if you think this is the only way out of your dilemma. Poverty is no joke. Younger generations of Americans aren't as responsible anymore. I saw it today, firsthand by these young mothers coming out to fill their baskets beyond full! To feed an entire family.

Yes, I feel obligated by calling you out Generations Y and Z and a few misinformed Alphas who are breaking into puberty. Get reality back and get a grip! Quit crowding the Texas population out with more mouths to feed than one or two ninos per family.

Blessings, there aren't too many nonprofits such as Hearts and Hands' fresh market, in partnership with the Houston Food Bank and supported by 'Be Well' Baytown. That's to say an initiative of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, sponsored by ExxonMobil. Kudos to all involved. 3 1/2 stars ✝️

This place has been a BLESSING to my soul. There Is an AMAZING lady there, name Nikki.
She Is one of the most LOVING, CARING, SWEETEST, HONEST people, that I have ever met.
I APPRECIATE, her low, n sweet tone she use, when talking to us, n you can feel the love and concern, she has for each of us that comes around her, for whatever reason. I don't see her often, but each time that I had the PRIVILEGE, to be In her presence, It was ALWAYS the same, no change.
Nikki, may our GOD bless you, over n over again dear.
Keep up the GREAT WORK FOR JESUS CHRIST, because our GOD certainly chose you to do this work for HIM.

Go up
