Supportive, dedicated and response-driven staff. Very kind-hearted souls who see clients as people with experiences. They bring together individuals from all backgrounds and give them a place to experience a family, even if it is temporary. Humble space, but with a big heart. I was very impressed with everyone, but a nice man named James made me feel welcome. I was greeted by Laurie, the secretary, a warm woman with a giving nature. Everyone here loves their job and helping people.

Today our church New Beginnings international House of Worship of Luling Texas,did our first Outreach here on a Saturday. It was a great turn out and I really do believe the people in the area enjoyed it all!! To God be the glory !! We are the hands and feet of Jesus!! South Side Community Center is a place with resources however the staff, director and Program director are zero help. I could not get an appointment to talk with them about a serious problem they refuse to meet with me and ask me to email my problems and concerns. They claim they help prevent homeless when in fact my experience with South Side Community Center is totally the opposite. The director that are in charge of South Side Community Center proclaim to help people not only did they not help me the tried to bury me in my circumstances that were beyond my control. They were no help only judgement . When I was fighting for my mental health and physical stability Southside Community Center were of no help! This place is grossly mis managed.

This place is absolutely amazing for ppl down on there luck or in need of basics. Lunch ,Dinner, showers , laundry and basic essentials. The staff is amazing and help as much as they can. Just please don't show up inebriated or on any substances. You will be turned away for help . All who come in need to be sober. Families needing meal or help feeding the children.

This place won’t help . I’ve called several times as my husband hurt his knee and hasn’t worked . I told them we had two cans of pork and beans and no other food AND that would go to our son who is a brittle Type 1 diabetic . His endocrinologist has helped us with his insulin . I don’t know if it’s the color of my skin but it seems that if I were darker or my name was different I could’ve gotten help . A single bag of food would have been SO greatly appreciated! A Hispanic woman just said sorry and treated the Hispanic woman behind me DIFFERENTLY! She probably got help !!!! I just CALLED THIS PLACE ONLY HELPS WITH 100.00’TOWARDS RENT WHEN I JUST HAD MAJOR BACK SURGERY ON 8/23/24! AND I JUST GOT RELEASED SUNDAY! IN THE MAILBOX WAS AN EVICTION LETTER ! THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I AM UNABLE TO DO NOW . I. CAN BARELY MOVE AND DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO CATCH UP . I GUESS THAT ILL BE FRESH OUT OF SURGERY SLEEPING IN MY CAR WHEN I AM USING A WALKER AND SCREAMING JUST TO WALK TO THE RESTROOM. IM USELESS RIGHT NOW . WE DO OWN SOME LAND IN CALDWELL, BURLESON COUNTY THAT WE ARE TRYING TO RAISE THE FUNDS FOR A SURVEY AND THE CLEARING OF OUR LAND , BUT ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING! ! I ASKED IF SOUTHSIDE WOULD HELP WITH THAT AND THEY SAID NO. THEY WOULD RATHER SEE SOMEONE WITH A LARGE CUT IN HER SIDE AND 5 LARGE CUTS IN MY BACK SLEEP IN MY CAR !!!

Southside is awesome. There are not as many resources for homeless people in San Marcos, luckily this place is here. Everyone is helpful and friendly. They have a free meal every day at 4pm. The cook is on point, it doesn't matter what it is it tastes delicious. Love the place.
