CASA will allow anyone to volunteer that does not have any formal training with handling the complex cases that come through their office. In particular one of their volunteers Laronda Potts failed to see the signs of abuse that my niece and nephew had been enduring for years at the hands of Rose and Barshay Inmon while in their home. She was so concerned with having a relationship with Rose that she neglected the children. My nephew was sent to the hospital for malnourishment twice. Each time we went to court or received an update Laronda Potts stated the kids were well when in fact they were not. Rose and Barshay have since been charged in criminal court for child abuse and neglect. Laronda Potts should not be allowed to volunteer for CASA as she is very incompetent.

Great organization! Training is excellent and the staff are truly caring and professional. I've learned so much about helping children. If you are looking for a way to make a difference in your community through making a tremendous impact in a kid's life, this is the place for you.
