Our family has found an incredible home at this church. The staff is simply amazing—so welcoming and genuinely invested in everyone who walks through the doors. They make a real impact with their outreach, serving the community in meaningful ways that reflect God’s love. The children’s ministry has been a huge blessing to our boys, pouring into them with lessons about faith, kindness, and community. It’s a joy watching them grow in such a supportive, Christ-centered environment.

There are so many ways for our family to get involved and serve, whether through volunteer opportunities, family events, or gatherings that bring everyone together. It’s clear that there’s a commitment here to learning and spiritual growth for all ages. The pastor is a true servant leader, faithfully teaching from the Bible and bringing God’s word to life every week. River Oaks isn’t just a place we attend; it’s truly home. We feel so blessed to be a part of this incredible church family!

River Oaks is the most welcoming church I've ever attended. The staff genuinely cares for each of us. It is a young congregation, full of life. The worship is sincere praise of our living God. Our pastor is the best I've heard in my 76 years. He brings the Bible to life.

Three years ago, my family went “church-hopping.” My family was no longer happy at our current church and honestly, I felt judged every time I walked in the door. (I was a single mom for 11 years, and then I met my husband.) We went to several amazing churches in the Murfreesboro area, but when we walked into River Oaks…it was an immediate sense of belonging and acceptance. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. At that time, Pastor John Shepard was the lead pastor. His sermon spoke directly into our hearts that day. Even my 13 year-old was spiritually moved. Not long after that, Pastor Wyatt Livingston was introduced as the new youth pastor. All of a sudden, my son was begging to go to Wednesday nights. My now 16 year-old has witnessed to friends and has a deeper knowledge of the Bible than I do!
Pastor Sean Myers is now the lead pastor and this church is loving God and loving others more than ever before.
I also have to give a shout-out to Pastor Brett, Pastor Michael, and Jennifer G - they are the hardworking people behind the scenes that probably don’t get enough credit for all that they do. They have loved on my family from day one and are always there with a smile, to give a high-five, or even call at 8pm to pray with you.
