I am really impressed with my experience at Hola. The teachers are amazing professionals who make learning easy and enjoyable. HOLA Lakeway's new center, Sankofa, is exactly what the community needed! They offer English classes, Spanish classes, GED classes, guidance and aid to newcomers, legal counseling, and much more! They are always looking for opportunities for the community to come together, to get to know the great diversity that makes up the fabric of our little Morristown and the surrounding cities and towns. Every year they host the Latino Food Festival, on Labor Day weekend, and it's been a huge success every time. You can try all kinds of delicious foods and enjoy traditional music, folkloric dances, and cultural presentations during this festival. The festival also brings together the Hispanic people of our community along with the rest of the greater community of east TN. They are now hosting monthly tertulias, which are small gatherings to showcase a specific cultural group from our community. They usually have a presentation to help attendees learn about the culture, needs, and contributions of the group being showcased. And of course food is always a big part of the tertulias. Now, after so many years of serving our community, they finally have a physical location in town! This is a great place to learn, connect, and volunteer to bring unity to our community.
