Not a good experience. From staff at Lifebanc seemed to much and didn't seem to care. Hospital nurses didn't seem happy to be working with them or being bossed by there people. Seemed like too much confusion at the worst time for my family. they go to take his organs , he doesn't die, can't use his organs have to go back to the same hospital unit. Too long, too dragged out, just left me turned off of the whole thing. Just too much chaos, will not be a donor when my time comes.

I never knew about them until my mother passed away in June 2023. Being a donor, they called and were so compassionate and wanted to make sure my family were OK with her donating.

A few weeks later I get all these things as a thank you. I also found out all the continuing resources they offer to donor families. They have been so helpful during this difficult time.

They send two females into the room where my brother is dying. One female starts rubbing my back while the other one tells me that my brother was an organ donor. They wanted his organs. My brother had this on one of his early ID cards from 2016. It was scratched out and his current ID had not listed him as a donor. I told them they were wrong. I also don't appreciate that woman putting her hands on me. If the gender roles were reversed, this could be seen as a criminal charge. Don't put your hands on people you don't know.

A little while after the women left, we asked the nurse about getting my brother's hand print. Another heavy-set male entered the room with a Lifebanc shirt on. He asked if there's any way he could get us to change our mind about the organ donation. This was so insensitive that I became livid. I already said ABSOLUTELY NOT. I couldn't believe this guy was standing over my dying little brother, grifting over his organs. I told him to leave immediately. We didn't receive our hand print after I refused the donation. The hospital became our opposition at that point.

My brother and I spoke about these donations in the past. We agreed that we don't want to be donors. His ID did not state he wanted to be one. They took that information from an expired, eight year old ID card. You're going to tell me because I had it in my ID one time twenty years ago that I'm still a donor?! I didn't know what it meant at the time. I was a teenager. They tricked me into it. I was a donor according to those records. It doesn't have to be current for them to take your organs.

You want me to save lives? Of who? The guy that laughed at me as cried in the lobby? The cop who falsely profiled me?The insensitive, overweight guy? The social justice warrior who sees me as an inherent whatever my ancestors were? The woman who put her hands on me while they tried to con me into giving them my brother's organs? The rich guy at the top of the donor list? No. You will burn. You will pay for what you did. You are the ones who deserve to be harvested for your organs. I hated everyone I saw at that hospital and saving them is the complete opposite of what I want to happen to them. The people working here are demons in human flesh. They literally feed off of your blood and your pain. I wouldn't be surprised if they eat the hearts of children.

My brother was a good man. He was my best friend. RIP, little brother.

The beautiful people that work in this organization are some of the best people I have met in my lifetime. I apricate all their kindness and patience with me and my family. Organ Donation is a sad, but beautiful thing, and the people that I meet behind it all made me support the organization so much more. Truly amazing work and people, I am truly thankful to have meet everyone, even under the not so good circumstances, that I did this past weekend. Thank you to each and everyone of you!

This is one of the 58 Organ Procurement Organizations. Lifebanc acquired my heart for transplant. To celebrate my 1st and 2nd Heartiversaries I backpacked to and from Washington DC from the Cleveland Clinic.

So grateful for Lifebanc. It is the local organ procurement organization. They are the organization that works as a "middleman" so to speak, between hospitals and donor families and recipients. They provided a wide variety of services including community education services, grief counseling and support services for both transplant donor families and recipients. I am the recipient of a kidney and pancreas. I receive counseling here as well. My Dad was a donor, my sister died waiting for a lung and liver but was still able to donate the gift of sight. If you have an upcoming event you can contact Lifebanc for speakers or for them to set up a table to both educate and enable people to register to be organ donors. (Heros). This is also a wonderful organization to volunteer for as I do today.💚
