DONT BUY A HOUSE FROM THEM!! Bought my 1st home from them. Claimed they were helping and going to remodel my family and I a beautiful new home. The whole process was a nightmare. They didn't complete open permits with the city, kept missing deadlines, no insulation in new walls/basement/ or attic, and over charged.
They came back almost year later and put some insulation in attic & basement. Floor boards are raised under carpet because they put no subfloor down and house was built in 1900.
Then after lots of complaints they agreed to some fix items. No downspouts, exposed wood on roof&porch, the floorboards, and other critical fixes. They prolonged completion of most critical things and only did a couple cosmetic things. Then sent me a letter saying they won't be doing anymore! Also after paying 2yrs on time and most payments more then required. My home that this good hearted NonProfit COMPANY sold me and said I should have some instant equity after purchasing. Well it's (-$15,000) in equity 😭 so when they tell you that you don't need a home inspection because everything is new and the city has to inspect it. RUN! Don't waste your money. Don't do what I did and believe someone was finally giving me a break! Nope just sold me a LEMON. I'll probably have to file bankruptcy. SMH. Best Wishes!

This is a great place that always helps the community! I have been in need and Lashonda, Cindy and Justine all went out of their way to help me. This is the SELF office in Hamilton that I am referring to. The organization helps with rental and utility assistance for people in need. I hope this organization is always available but the customer service is 10/10.

Not super happy about how long an appointment takes to get. As well as application not easiest to understand alot of unforseen needed paper work . Also not great that this happens to be the ONLY place outside of salvation army to help with utilities in butler county. Really could operate better

A Great organization, helped a community during the pandemic, paid rent, utilities when funds were available. Their timing was appropriate and they were very professional. Many people benefited from their services. SELF is to be commended while other cities and communities couldn't give a positive experience with the way government funding was distributed.

Literally such a blessing for struggling families! I spoke with Nikki and I wish I knew this lady’s name in the Middletown office, and for such a bad thing I am going through in life, they were both so kind and helpful. Like went above and beyond and made me not feel embarrassed for struggling, and going through a rough patch in life. Just thank you, thank you so much for everything you’ve done and are doing for us this holiday season. My family and I are forever grateful and hope one day we can give back in one way or another to someone who will be in our shoes. 😭❤️🙏🏼God Bless You!
