"The Miracle Factory." OVV gives young children who are deaf or hard of hearing (D/HH) the extraordinary and life-changing gift of listening and spoken language. This organization provides children who are deaf the ability to communicate, to have the same opportunities in life as their normal-hearing peers, and to make it impossible to view deafness as a disability, because it isn’t going to be a limiting factor in their lives.

As the parent of a child that has experienced a great deal of success due to OVV, I cannot overstate what this organization means to our family or how it has changed the prospects of my son’s future and the future of hundreds of hearing-impaired children just like him. The work that OVV does for these children and their families is so impactful, and the results are so amazing, it’s difficult to imagine life without them.

Ohio Valley Voices and their staff go above and beyond for not only the children but their families as well. They have given our son a truly amazing gift that will better his life forever. Because of OVV my son and hear and process speech in addition to speaking at the same level as his hearing peers. We love OVV!

My parents are deaf and attended a residential school for the deaf, where communication barriers were a constant challenge. They relied on interpreters for doctor visits and important meetings—many times, the interpreter never arrived since the hospital or service provider did not know the steps to obtain an interpreter. When my son was born deaf, I feared he would face the same injustices my parents experienced.

Instead, we discovered Ohio Valley Voices and enrolled him in the Parent-Infant Program before his first birthday. He graduated from OVV in kindergarten and is now a thriving 7th grader at a local private school. OVV fosters a warm, family-oriented environment that supports both students and their families. Their approach to speech therapy and academics feels less like work and more like play, making learning engaging and enjoyable.

Beyond academics, the friendships my son and our family has formed at OVV remain strong to this day. This school has been life-changing—not just for him, but for our entire family. Thanks to OVV, my son has opportunities my parents never had, proving that he can be anything he wants to be, without the barriers my parents faced throughout their entire lives. I am forever grateful that we found OVV.

I have referred patients to OVV and have had patients go through their program. OVV gives children with hearing loss and their families the gift of spoken language and the skills to pursue their dreams. I have been so impressed with OVV that I am a regular donor and supporter of their miraculous work.

This place is absolutely magical. If you want your child to be treated like family and to have an army in your back pocket this is the place. They have done wonders for our kiddo in the short amount of time they have been there. Do a tour and find out for yourself.

Amazing place! I used to go there and I graduated and now I go to a private school! I love the new part that just was built! My dad is the president on the board and it is like a family there! I made lots of great friends and I am still friends with them!

My son started in 2015 , Toddler Program. It was great , my child was cared for, needs being met.
Fast forward ... They held my son back 2X!! For their own monetary gain. Just about every teacher and staff , Carey Ratliff being the main one who acted like she wanted to help me when I was going through a very personal , vulnerable time ... She drove me to Anderson Mercy ...and no coincidence the " DR" who seen me that night is the same very father of a little girl in my son's class here at OVV... That was when Carey, Meredith , (the main 2 I spoke with ) violated my confidenality by speaking with that Dr about the reasoning I was being seen (Carey's idea...she just left me dropped me off @ hospital) leaked it throughout OVV , and called CPS on me for abuse / neglect. Having CPS meet me @ OVV. How humiliating !! My child did not deserve this!
Everyone just wants to brush it all under the rug . Not me. I'm standing up. And here is my truth .
The embarrassment, betrayal that I got from these people who have known my child / my family for years .... This needs to be HEARD & SEEN. I am not letting this go .
My son's last day @ this school was May 31 2023. They wanted to repeat him again 2nd grade .
For what they have done to my child , and family will forever stick emotionally/ psychologically/ mentally .
