If the veteran staying here isn't generating revenue for VOA (needing services such as employment, mental health and/or rehabilitation) they'll cut them loose and back onto the streets. Its as simple as that. VOA receives the majority of their money from the VA and being homeless/looking for a home simply isn't enough for them. It's a heartless and sick way to operate but it's sadly the truth.

VOA Mt Healthy only gets "1 star" because they do provide single person rooms, which IMO is essential for privacy and shielding oneself from others who might be actively using drugs and alcohol. Hot meals and laundry are provided. As previously mentioned they do take possession of all your meds and supplements. I've known instances where staff pilfer, steal and substitute. Case managers put as much work into you as you put into yourself which is fair enough. Just be prepared for lots of indifference and low level hostility.

You don't have any freedom there. You have a curfew unless your working, they control your meds and vitamins. Breakfast is the same thing everyday.

An amazing place. Just the energy and the vibes in this building will save lives alone! I’ve seen miracles in my lifetime and this place is blessed beyond measure. Any vet that needs help! Call the VOA!

You have to pay a service fee of 146.00 in order to stay here. They told me I didn't have to pay the service fee because I didn't have income. However, they weren't going to allow me to wait for my VA claim to go through so they were basically forcing me to seek employment. The issue with that is I'm not from Cincinnati and I do not have transportation so why would I work in Cincinnati if I do not intend to live there. It also appeared to me that whoever was running this facility was taking money and putting it in their pockets. So they were basically pimping and stealing from Veterans if I could give this play zero Stars I would

They are worthless and don't actually help anyone they are there to profit from the Vets they house ( VA benefits). The don't even coordinate services for the Vets appropriately and many have health issues. It is frustrating as being a veteran myself. I don't review often but in this case they shouldn't be allowed to operate the way they are . They don't even understand posttraumatic stress or mental health care. The employees are a joke, clearly it's not about quality. And I am not even sure if most of the employees have a background in mental health. It makes me sad.

Lack of knowledge and lack of preparation to deal with veterans, especially PTSD. Non diverse staff. No therapist available ever. Once again, it shows that veterans should run these places, not outsiders.

My brother passed away in this facility last year of a drug overdose. If proper procedures had been followed, he might have lived. *the staff is supposed to do two welfare checks each day and they weren't being done due to being under-staffed.
